Do you know why Perception was canceled? Possibly not! Created by the duo of Kenneth Biller and Mike Sussman, the crime series aired on the cable channel TNT, back in 2012. To be more precise, it aired until 17 March 2015. The channel canceled it at the end of 2014 and seemed to have valid reasons behind it. What was that? Perception Got Canceled In The Middle Of Season 3 And Ended It Later: What Happened?
Perception on TNT got canceled after its new President, Kevin Reilly canceled Franklin & Bash. The latter aired till Season 4. What was the major reason behind this? Well, the network, TNT wanted to earn a noisier and more prominent fare in a bid to stand out. More precisely, that was supposed to be among the other competitive channels.
At the time TNT canceled Perception, the crime drama series had garnered more than 2.7 million views globally. Even though, it sounds like a lot, it was not much in reality. In other words, the viewing rate was declining as Seasons 1 & 2 had made 4.2 million and 3 million respectively. The success of the show was not at a growing rate. Talking more about it, Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger.
Concerning the sudden cancelation, Rachael Leigh Cook said, “I think it’s going to take a longer time than it normally would for us to find out about the renewal.” Some people hoped for it. On the other hand, the actor, Eric McCormack shared that they certainly didn’t end that in a way that was going to be satisfying for the fans. Because of that, he appeared that he was hopeful enough. Overall, it seemed like most of the leading actors of Perception, felt like there was a possibility of renewal.
It was reported that TNT wanted to get louder and more dual. Still, it considered the existing audience. Some of the Perception fans took the discussion on different social media platforms, expressing their disappointment. Well, some understood the validation of the major reason, while others didn’t.
