The love and hate for a fictional character is a common debate in the anime community, and honestly, this is what keeps the community engaging with the conversation they have regarding the characters. For today’s topic, we have Zenitsu from Demon Slayer, who is a popular character, and everyone who has watched Demon Slayer will surely recall who Zenitsu from Demon Slayer is.
Although he is famous or infamous according to how to see this character, there is surely a majority of the fans from this franchise that are not rather keen on liking this character. It isn’t that they hate this character, as “Hate” is a strong word to describe, but rather there are traits of this character that the fans particularly dislike and would prefer that it would change.

Why People Hate Zenitsu In Demon Slayer?
To start, what is wrong with Zenitsu is the fact that he is whiny all the time. As mentioned earlier, his whininess is what most of the fans of the show look forward to, but at some points, it is too much to handle. While some people still enjoy it for a while, anyone is bound to dislike someone like Zenitsu, who is showing tantrums.
Consider toddlers; while everyone loves them and finds them cute, at one point, after they keep crying and showing tantrums, it would be really hard to keep up with it. That is the case with Zenitsu as well. We could not be more clear as to why his whininess is not likable every time.
The other Zenitsu trait that you are bound to dislike and find very irritating is the fact that all the time, he is harassing girls. The proper introduction to Zenitsu’s character was made after the Tanjiro was set on the mission to the Nagamuto mountain, where he would encounter the lower-rank six demons.
Tanjiro saw Zentisu harassing a girl into marrying him, and the girl only helped him with direction. While it was really funny to see Zentisu that way, we would not enjoy someone in real life doing that to a girl. Tanjiro’s reaction to this was very accurate and displayed the audience in general as he was very annoyed with Zenitsu’s annoying way of reacting to a girl who helped him.
Zenitsu’s Traits Make Him Unlikeable
Another trait that most people do not like about Zenitsu and there are a lot of characters that we could think of due to the following reason, and it is their screaming. Notable characters are Asta, Bakugo, and many more. This is what the anime community has agreed upon on a global scale, as screaming people and characters are always annoying.

As much we like to see Zenitsu’s serious mood, it only lasts for a while as he only needs a few seconds to take care of them, but it takes a while to see him get in that mood. And while he is not being serious, Zentisu is plain annoying as he does not help his comrades and would rather be a liability because of his cowardness. Speaking of which, his cowardness makes him selfish, as he would do anything to protect himself and put others at risk.
All of these traits make Zentisu very unlikeable, and the fans would rather enjoy his character would be more useful and see his serious mood more than see his whininess. Nevertheless, Zentisu is a fictional character, and the love and hate relationship between him to all characters will always be up for debate.
