Series executive producer and actor Jason Sudeikis has explained that the element of confusion reflects what happens in actual relationships, as he feels like in various relationships, people sometimes don’t know why they have made a choice or why that choice was made in the first place.
Series actor Brett Goldstein has admitted that he and Juno had such a special time together in building this thing and admitted that it was very sad to end it. The writer and actor of the series further added that their scenes were rather magical and further called his co-star Juno wonderful.

Why Did Keeley and Roy Break Up?
Keeley and Roy break up in between the two seasons as Ted Lasso fans were in for a big surprise in season 3. While the exact reason behind the two splitting ways was not revealed, it came out during a conversation between Keeley and Roy’s niece Rebecca, where Keeley tells her that they are taking a break as they both are too busy for a relationship.
The two have taken up new demanding jobs as Roy Kent has been hired as the new assistant coach at AFC Richmond, and this has led to the former football star spending more time on the pitch. On the other hand, Keeley Jones has also taken up a joke as the CEO of a PR firm.
The new job has been strenuous for both of them, which has also led to some distance between Keeley and Roy. Series actor Jason Sudeikis has explained that this level of self-discovery between both Roy and Keeley might lend itself to further episodes.

Why Did Roy Apologize To Keeley?
While viewers have been curious to know what went wrong between Roy and Keeley that led to their eventual breakup, it seems like the makers gave their relationship a bit more context in the third season, episode 10. Roy seemingly apologized to Keeley through a letter.
Roy seemingly penned down a poignant letter where he admitted that he had apologized to Keeley, saying that she did nothing wrong and it was him all along.
Roy also admitted sing that he was stuck in his own life, and that is why he chose to pull away from Keeley, as he didn’t want to cause her any more harm. As Keeley and Roy had a heartfelt conversation after that, a possible reconciliation was hinted at, which can be further explored in the fourth season.
Who Plays The Role Of Keeley And Roy?
Juno Temple plays the role of Keeley, and Brett Goldstein plays the role of Roy Kent. Juno explained that the breakup felt honest, and at the same time, it also felt like that was needed along with the storyline of her getting this extraordinary career opportunity and that Keeley has to focus on that.
Brett Goldstein has also opened up about his on-screen split with Keeley and admitted that he found it devastating and heartbreaking as he loves Roy and Keeley, and as he is also a fan of them, it was very sad and difficult for him as well. While talking about Roy’s character in the series, Brett explained that his tragic flaw is that he does not feel worthy of love and feels like he deserves to be happy or deserves to be loved while calling Roy self-destructive.
