The divorce of Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea) and Linda Hogan, after 24 years of marriage, was marked by a dramatic and deeply troubled public fallout. The relationship ended with claims of infidelity, abuse, and personal conflicts that continued even after the divorce was finalized.
One of the main catalysts for the divorce was Hulk Hogan’s affair with Christiane Plante, who was a close friend of their daughter, Brooke Hogan. Linda discovered the affair, which she stated was the final straw, and decided to end the marriage.
Plante admitted to the affair in a 2008 interview, confirming that it began when the Hogans were already separating. Hulk Hogan, however, denied the affair in his memoir, claiming that Linda became suspicious whenever he interacted with other women.

The situation worsened with Linda’s accusations of emotional and physical abuse by Hulk. She claimed that he was violent and manipulative during their marriage, alleging incidents of him throwing lamps, holding her down, and even making her fear for her life.
She described the ongoing trauma after their separation, particularly how it affected their children and the family dynamics.
The couple’s marriage struggles were also aired out on the reality show “Hogan Knows Best” (2005-2007), which attempted to paint a picture of a happy family, but in reality, it only exacerbated the issues, making them public.
After filing for divorce in 2007, Linda walked away with significant assets, including 70% of their liquid assets and 40% ownership of Hulk’s companies.
The divorce did not end the family drama, as both parties went through further controversies. Linda dated a much younger man, which led to a lawsuit, while Hulk Hogan remarried twice, with his second marriage ending in a scandal involving a sex tape.

Their daughter, Brooke, distanced herself from both of them, choosing not to attend Hulk’s third wedding in 2023.
The Hogan family’s public implosion not only affected their personal lives but also irreparably damaged their brand and reputation, leaving a lasting mark even as the years passed.
