You cannot be a Game Of Thrones fan and not want to know Why did Daenerys Go Mad? Game of Thrones is over, and many fans are heartbroken to see it go, especially with the way it was going. Of course, you can’t expect to get everything you want when your favorite show ends, and you have to assume the showrunners had a plan in mind when creating a show.
Even though Cersei’s soldiers had rung the bells of surrender during the siege of King’s Landing, Daenerys decided to fly into the Red Keep and set Cersei and the entire city on fire. She now has a reputation for murdering the defenseless, just like her father, Aerys II. Game of Thrones has been building up Daenerys’ twist—from savior to villain—but this abrupt change feels out of character for a program that has historically devoted multiple seasons to the growth of a single character. While many viewers were mystified by Daenerys’ behavior in the eighth episode, the show’s creators had a pretty solid explanation for why the Daughter of the Mad King acted the way she did.

Why did Daenerys Go Mad?
We are about to reveal why Daenerys Go Mad In GOT. In the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, Daenerys transformed into a Mad Queen. She burned King’s Landing to the ground since she had already lost everyone and everything dear to her. The Dragon Queen, the riding Dragon, destroyed Euron Greyjoy’s Iron Fleet, the Golden Company, and the city’s anti-dragon fortifications to single-handedly win the Battle of King’s Landing in “The Bells.” However, as Cersei Lannister’s surrender was announced by the bells, Daenerys lost her cool and set the city ablaze with Dragonfire.
Burning down King’s Landing was something Daenerys wanted to do with Cersei at the start of the war, but Tyrion talked her out of it. Indeed, Daenerys was poised not only to conquer Westeros but to do so easily and decisively at the start of Game of Thrones season 7. However, by the time Daenerys arrived at Winterfell to fight the Great War against the Night King in Game of Thrones season 8, she had lost a significant amount of military strength, and her allies Ellaria Sand and Olenna Tyrell had died. Her Iron Fleet was also gone when Euron Greyjoy captured Yara. Worse, Viserion was slaughtered and resurrected as the Night King’s ice dragon. But, despite her lover Jon Snow’s presence, it was at Winterfell that Daenerys suffered her most personal loss: Jorah Mormont, her oldest and dearest friend, died defending her at the Battle of Winterfell.

Was Jon Snow Responsible For Daenerys Transformation?
After the Great War was won, Daenerys was ambushed on her way back to Dragonstone; Rhaegal was killed by Euron, and Missandei was captured and beheaded in front of her on Cersei’s orders. Worst, they were plotting behind her back because the word was getting out that Jon Snow was Aegon Targaryen, the son of her late brother Rhaegal. Despite Daenerys’ pleas, Jon revealed the truth about his ancestors to his family, Arya and Sansa Stark, and Sansa wasted no time in informing Tyrion. Once Tyrion shared the information with Varys, the Spider began sending letters throughout Westeros, attempting to rally the highborn to support Jon’s claim rather than Daenerys’. Because unfortunately for Dany, Jon’s claim to the Iron Throne as the true heir was stronger than her own. And this was one of the reasons why Daenerys Go Mad.
What Do The Fans Have To Say?
While many fans believe Daenerys’ transformation into the Mad Queen was abrupt, forced, and unearned, her ruthlessness was established throughout Game of Thrones. There’s a valid argument that Daenerys’ abrupt transformation appears to betray seven seasons of character development in which she resisted her Targaryen instincts and tried to rule with fairness and mercy. But, in Daenerys’ opinion, she was betrayed by her Westerosi advisers, and the people from Essos she most trusted were taken from her while she was attempting to save the realm. With Jorah and Missandei went, the survivors, such as Jon and Tyrion, betrayed her while professing loyalty. We hope you got all your answers regarding why Daenerys Go Mad.
