Cadillac Williams had an awesome career as a former football player turned coach with Auburn University for the past five seasons under different coaches, thus helping his students make a career for themselves, and his decision to resign and leave the team has left his fans in shock.
Well, there isn’t much of a reason behind Cadillac’s decision except his interest in pursuing other opportunities after coaching Auburn’s football team, as stated by the coach himself.
Cadillac stated that he loves the players and the AU family in Auburn with all his heart, but his decision to resign from the team to search for other and better opportunities is needed for the betterment of his wife and children.
Cadillac further stated that he was grateful for the opportunity provided to him by Coach Malzahn in the past and now Coach Freeze, following which he continued that the years of his life spent with Auburn University were nothing but incredible and the university will always hold a special place in his heart.
Cadillac has clearly stated in his statement that after taking into consideration to pray and reflect on his decision, he has decided to resign and move on to pursue better opportunities, and even though he was grateful for the opportunity, he needed to move on in life for his family’s betterment.
Before 2023, Williams exclusively coached Auburn’s running back before getting promoted to associate coach alongside his role as the coach of Auburn University’s football team.
After the news of Cadillac’s resignation came to light, Hugh Freeze, the head coach of Auburn University, came out in support and made a statement where he stated, “The university is incredibly appreciative of Cadillac, and they are grateful for everything he has done for the team.
