Singers Huntley and Ruby Leigh from Team Niall and Team Reba competed for the title of Season 24 of NBC’s “The Voice.” But who was victorious?
A rollicking rendition of Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was performed by Leigh and coach Reba McEntire to get everyone in the festive mood before the winner was revealed on Tuesday night. Leigh, 16, has won over the coaches over the season with her showmanship that belies her age. McEntire acknowledged that she lacked this maturity when she was a teenager.
Alongside his coach Niall Horan, Huntley performed a heartfelt rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” on an acoustic guitar. Coaches praised Huntley’s powerful performance of Creed’s “Higher” as she wrapped out the finale on Monday with a dose of late ’90s nostalgia.
Who Is The Voice Crowns Season 24 Winner?
On Tuesday night, The Voice closed its 24th season by crowning Huntley the winner. This season displayed incredible talent with a record number of four-chair turns. After Huntley, a father of two under Niall Horan’s coaching, won via public voting, Horan became the show’s second-ever champion.
The gifted performer gained momentum after mesmerizing the judges with his performance of “She Talks to Angels” during the Blind Auditions. He went on to win the Battle with Hootie and the Blowfish’s “Hold My Hand” and the Knockout with Bon Jovi’s “Dead or Alive.”
When David Kushner sang “Daylight” during the Playoffs, Niall made his selection evident, making him the first competitor to move on to the live events. Hailing Huntley as a stage powerhouse and an amazing performer, the pleased coach praised his unique vocal tone. The coach expressed hope that Huntley’s distinct voice would find a fulfilling role in the business.
The vocalist, 33, defeated Lila Forde from Team Legend, Mara Justine from Team Niall, Jacquie Roar, and Ruby Leigh from Team Reba.
With an amazing performance of “She Talks to Angels” in a four-chair turn, Huntley rapidly piqued the eye of the coaches. The native of Virginia finished as the last competitor in his season’s Top 5 on The Voice. He was appreciative of his coach, Niall Horan, for his unwavering support.
After the show, Huntley revealed his plans, looking forward to some holiday relaxation before pursuing his dream of being a music sensation. In the Knockouts, the 33-year-old father from Fredericksburg, Virginia, dazzled with his amazing performances of well-known songs, like Kaleo’s “Way Down We Go” and Bon Jovi’s “Dead or Alive.”
John Legend reaffirmed his season-long compliment after Huntley’s final performance of Creed’s “Higher,” stressing that she sings like an accomplished professional ready for a career outside of the show. Huntley has had a remarkable capacity to enthrall coaches and spectators from the beginning.
Lila Forde of Team Legend and coach John Legend got into the spirit of the holidays by singing a jazzy version of Ella Fitzgerald’s “Sleigh Ride.” Forde and Legend are like two birds of a feather; they respect each other’s ability to perform while remaining composed.
“I recognize that in you. “I was like, ‘Wow, he really can do that live,'” during your stage performance. In a prerecorded piece, Forde told Legend. Legend answered, “You’ve been doing it every week.” I’m attempting to emulate you.”
Forde’s composure was put to the test as her “Voice” quest ended in defeat. The singer from Seattle finished in fifth position. Coach McEntire and Team Reba’s Jacquie Roar performed a moving rendition of Wynonna Judd’s “No One Else on Earth” on stage.
In addition to her talent as the Queen of Country Music, McEntire’s relationship with Roar as a working mother made her an inspiration to the latter. In a prerecorded part, Roar remarked, “I respect that you’re a mom, and I know you know what it means to be an artist and a mom at the same time.” McEntire responded, “Us moms got to stick together.”
Sadly, Roar’s soulful country-rock music was unable to carry her over the finish line. The vocalist finished in fourth place.
Coach Horan and Team Niall singer Mara Justine brought genuine agony to the Eagles’ impassioned rendition of “Wasted Time.” For Justine, a former Team Legend vocalist who sang with Legend at the start of the season, the duet turned out to be a full-circle moment.
