As one of the most popular faces in Hollywood, it’s no doubt that most would recognize the face of popular comedian Billy Eichner. Most Billy Eichner fans would either remember him from his role in Parks and Recreation or, much more memorably, as the lead in Billy on the Street, which he is also the creator of, aired by Funny or Die.
Eichner earned the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host because of this very show, and those who’ve watched it know why. Lesser known is that he played Timon in the 2019 Lion King live-action, but you get the idea now. He’s done a lot of stuff.
What you should know him for currently, though, is his lead role in the hilarious LGBTQ+ romantic comedy film, Bros, which is a huge step forward in media for the LGBT community with its hysterical execution without having to rely on outright or even passive-aggressive homophobia from surrounding characters. Managing to portray a gay romance in a discrimination-free society, Bros is not only interesting but progressive.
Is He Gay In Real Life too?
The answer is Yes! Billy Eichner is out and proud and has been openly gay as a man of show business. He had little to no difficulty with coming out due to his parent’s and loved ones’ support of the community, and unlike most LGBT+ people from more conservative backgrounds, his sexuality has never daunted him.
Funny enough, an article that released in June was titled as “Celebrity relationships that made us feel better about 2021” featured both Anna Kendrick and Billy Eichner on the cover, along with other very recognizable celebrity couples. Even though it spread misinformation with a mistakenly included photo, both Eichner and Kendrick took it humorously and joked with each other about being a “couple”.
“Hey, cats out of the bag!!!” Billy posted, tagging her in the caption.
“We can finally live our truth, Billy! You’ve felt so pressured to seem like a gay man that you made, but you’re free now! Our love can flourish!” She replied to the tweet without missing a beat and joining in on the joke seamlessly.
Who is Billy Eichner’s Partner?
It was all good fun, of course. This isn’t the first time that Eichner had joked about dating people he wasn’t really in a relationship with, as seen with his open-street make-out moment with John Cho in one of the seasons of Difficult People as they were a couple in the show. Unfortunately, in real life, this is not true, and they are just good friends offset. They haven’t given any reason for the media or public to think that they are in a relationship and are not seen with each other outside the set of Difficult People; hence, no further rumors about them being in a relationship could be plausible.
Their relationship on the internet is definitely something that people had kept a close eye on, though, especially fans who’d wished that they were together. In 2018, when Billy on the Street made its return announcement, John Cho replied with excitement, to which Billy Eichner captioned a photo of their iconic Difficult People kiss.
“I know you miss me, John.” Billy tweeted, attaching a GIF of the kiss, to which John replied with a broken heart emoji. As usual, fans ate this up.
This is where the rumor dies off though, and puts an end to the supposed romantic relationship between Billy and John that fans were eager would come into the open soon. But people bounced back quickly and soon moved from one man to another. The focus shifted to Robin Taylor, Eichner’s roommate in college. Eichner and Taylor got along very well and hit it off as soon as they met but here too, there was just smoke without fire, and Taylor was proved to be just another good friend of Eichner’s.
With regards to his co-star in Bros, Luke Macfarlane, the audience wishes this relationship were a real one. Their chemistry had sizzled both onscreen and off with easy humor and good vibes. We all know that Bobby and Aaron are meant to be but is it the same for Billy and Luke? Unfortunately, the answer to this again is no.
Currently, not much more is known about Billy Eichner’s partner, nor if he even has one, but we wish him all the best in life and love regardless.
