Who Is Haruhi Fujioka?
Haruhi Fujioka is the protagonist of the Ouran High School Host Club anime series. She is a first-year student at Ouran academy after she got in through a scholarship because of her intelligence. However, she is considered common or ‘poor’ by the other standards of her elite classmates at Ouran. Haruhi is very serious when it comes to her studies, as keeping her 1st rank is the only way she can keep her scholarship. One day, she wanders into the school’s infamous Host Club room and accidentally breaks a really expensive vase. The members make her enlist as a host at the club in order to pay for the vase. Now Haruhi has to entertain clientele, mostly female, who come to Music room 3 for a relaxing time of drinking tea and conversing with these lovely boys.
Haruhi is described as a pretty girl with long hair before joining Ouran. But unfortunately, just before entering the prestigious school, she got gum stuck to her hair and had to get a boy cut. So during high school, she has an androgynous look. Since Haruhi is not rich enough to afford the expensive Ouran uniform, she wears oversized clothes. She sports a messy hairstyle and masculine clothing, so everyone assumes she is a boy.
Her appearance is in line with her personality as well. Haruhi believes that a person’s gender has nothing to do with their roles in society and how they should be treated. She is often blunt while speaking to others and can easily pick up others’ motives. However, she is completely clueless when it comes to her own feelings.
Who Does Haruhi End Up With In Ouran High School Host Club?
Haruhi is shipped with almost every member of the Host Club by fans. It is also evident that Kaoru, Hikaru, and Tamaki all have feelings for Haruhi. But unfortunately, for all the other shippers, it is actually canon that Haruhi and Tamaki became a couple. The last episode of the anime keeps it very open-ended in that sense. But the manga goes in-depth about their relationship. Haruhi and Tamaki actually get married, and they even have a child together. Throughout the anime, there are certain hints and developments in their relationship.
In the last episode, Haruhi shares a dance with each member of the Host Club. And If one pays close attention, then they will notice that the dances happen in the order of how romantically interested each of the members were in Haruhi throughout the anime. The last two dances of Haruhi are with Kyoya and Tamaki. Kyoya actually steals her away from Tamaki while they are dancing, but he also returns her quickly. So the two share a happy dance together before the fireworks go off. The show ends with Haruhi and Tamaki longingly looking at each other while fireworks go off in the background.
