With the second Chunin exams underway in Boruto, we will be looking into possible battle matchups as Boruto is in the spotlight once again. Unlike the manga, the anime took a bit of a roundabout after Ishiki’s defeat that saw more development into the leaf’s genin. So at this point, we won’t be able to know what will happen in the upcoming fights as the anime has entered the filler territory that will have the manga pick up a bit of pace.
Boruto anime is almost closing in on its manga counterpart. But the upcoming Chunin exam should slow things down and buy at least a chapter’s worth of time. Boruto has just passed what seemed to be the final stages of the Chunin exams. But everyone’s celebration is cut short after they find out that only half of them will get to be Chunin.
The final battles will be announced on the day of the fight, so the participants have no idea who they will be fighting for their final round. With Team 7 qualifying all of its members, there are good chances that they will proceed to be Chunins unless they face one of their teammates.
Looking at how things have been going at this point, Boruto has proved to be strong and would really take a discerning and calculative opponent to defeat him. The interesting part about this is that there is no way to know what will come next since this did not happen in the manga. So it makes a good filler filled with lots of surprises. The manga has not revealed any of Team 7’s status at this point and is fully focused on other events os either outcome will still perfectly fit.
Boruto Next Generations Chunin Exams
It would be easy to confuse these exams with the first ones that were interrupted by the Otsutsuki attack. But this time as one of the biggest threats in the anime has been dealt with. It is finally time to build capable Shinobi as Code still remains out there. According to Amado’s explanations, Code could prove to be even more powerful than Ishiki as he has inherited his will and powers.
With both Naruto and Sasuke out, the leaf has been left defenseless so in case of another attack of a similar scale. The Genins at their current levels would hardly do anything to effectively defend their home village. So the ongoing Chunin exams will bolster their attacks and reveal weaknesses to those who have not yet realized it.
Some things to note in the upcoming Chunin exams would be based on Boruto’s development up to this point. He wants to redeem himself after what happened in the previous Chunin exams, so he really needs to win this time. This has been made somewhat worse based on the outcome of the fight against Ishiki. So Boruto feels responsible and needs to get strong faster.
We are still not sure how the system that determines the upcoming fights works. But it seems like the system is made so that only half of the remaining students will pass. Team 7, with all of its members up to the final stage, might have caught the organizers’ attention. So it will not be fair to other teams if none of Team 7 students don’t get to face each other. In the next episode, we should be able to see which students from team seven will get to face each other.
Who Does Boruto Fight in The Chunin Exams?
Now looking at the business of the day, there is a good chance that two of team seven students will face each other. And a fight between Sarada and Mitsuki would not be as interesting as both of them have been sidelined by the Ishiki’s arc. So the best way to show what Mitsuki and Sarada have been up to would be not to have them face each other in the Chunin exams.
So Boruto will have to face either Mitsuki or Sarada. A fight between Boruto and Mitsuki would be like a fight between brothers and might not push Mitsuki to fight to his best due to his reverence of Boruto. But one that would be interesting would be a fight between Boruto and Sarada. As fellow teammates and rivals, Sarada is the perfect opponent to measure up Boruto’s growth as a Shinobi at this point.
But should that happen, we all know that Sarada will get one on him as she is a bit annoyed that Boruto has been the center of the action while she has been sidelined. Boruto got to go to a fight that would be classified above S Rank when he fought Ishiki, and even though Sarada wanted to go, she did not get any chance. So an excellent way to show that even she is capable and has reached Boruto’s level would be to have her fight against Boruto.
It will be one of the interesting fights with very fine margins. But knowing Sarada’s intellect and Boruto’s easygoing, then that is where she will have the edge. At this point, we have never seen Boruto fight against Sarada, and it will be finally interesting to see how Boruto would manage against her. Based on their jutsu nature elements, then they are the perfect opponents.
Boruto is the new generation from Naruto’s side, while Sarada comes from Sasuke’s side. So it is a bit of an Irony that Sasuke is Boruto’s mentor, which has stolen a spotlight from Sarada. At this point, there would not be a better opponent to test both Sarada and Boruto’s developments after what they have been going through.
Boruto has a slight advantage as he has experienced actual combat, so he trained in actual battle. Sarad has the same from their fight with Boro, so she is not left behind. Boruto is a simpleton and not as keen and intelligent as Sarada, and that was one thing that earned Sarada being their captain when they fought Boro.
Sarada being a Chunin would be a huge benefit on Team 7 than Boruto making Chunin. It will be easier to decide who will get to captain their team in future missions, even though it looks like both Mitsuki and Boruto would not mind letting Sarada take the lead—taking this into account. Should Boruto and Sarad face each other, the outcome will favor Sarada. She has been sidelined for too long, and it’s finally time to show her development.
If Boruto and Sarada do not face each other, it will be very difficult for someone else to stop them. So it is best to let them take each other out so that only one of them makes it through. Mitsuki is also a capable opponent, so it will be very difficult to stop team 7. The higher-ups probably have a dilemma looking into this squad.
Team 7 went to Ishiki’s pocket dimension and managed to defeat an opponent as strong as Boro and even rescued Naruto. But this was with the help of Kawaki, who had a Karma with him, so without him, in the exams, other students stand a good chance as well. This has been just a discussion on what most Boruto fans would want to see. A fight between Boruto and Sarada at their current peak level. There would not be a better moment to test them than now. So let’s see how the next episode will reveal and see if we will be able to get what would make one of the best fights in Boruto so far. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 223 releases this weekend and will have more information on the upcoming Chunin Exams.
