The lineup for pregame entertainment on Thursday of the Super Bowl LVII, Reba McEntire, Post Malone, and Andra Day will be performing to warm up the fans ahead of the big game.
As per the post released by the NFL on their Instagram account, the pregame lineup has Reba McEntire, who will be singing the national anthem, followed by Post Malone with a performance on “America the Beautiful,” and Andra Day, who will be delivering a rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at the stadium.
McEntire said, “I’m honored to be part of something as big and historic as the Super Bowl coming to Las Vegas for the first time” in a press statement. In the same statement, Reba continued, “2024 marks 50 years since I was discovered singing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo.”
The 68-year-old country superstar will be singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the aforementioned sports event, which is a full-circle moment for her, and she ‘can’t think of a better way’ to celebrate this 50-year anniversary.
McEntire is not the only one excited about the pregame performance but also Andra Day (39), as she took to her social media and expressed the excitement she has. The Golden Globe winner wrote, “Peace and blessings performing!! The anthem at the Super Bowl, yall!! Grateful, thank you, God.”
Apart from the aforementioned three artists, there will also be Usher, who will be seen delivering his talent to the audience on February 11 after the pregame entertainment.
Usher will be taking the stage in the middle of the game for the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show.
In a recent digital cover interview with Vogue, Usher (45) was heard opening up about this upcoming performance, where he said, “People will tune in for a football game, but I hope when they look at the halftime performance, I’m hoping they walk away with something that’s healing them” this week to the outlet.
Usher said that he’s all about “the fan experience” and that he has been trying to ‘figure out something’ about how to ‘give them something’ that is going to make them ‘feel something’. The ‘OMG’ singer labeled himself a ‘dreamer’.
The pregame performers are said to be accompanied by an American Sign Language translator. Each of them will have one, as Danial Durrant, an actor of CODA, will be accompanying McEntire.
The dancer, actress, and model Anjel Piñero will be seen alongside Post Malone, and actor/choreographer, Shaheem Sanchez will be the translator and singer of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” as well as for the halftime show.
On the day of the NFL announcement, Usher released a teaser of the Super Bowl halftime show elements along with his aim to ‘take the main stage.” On the basis of these released hints, fans can look forward to a change in costumes, choreography, roller skating, and some guest appearances in the show.
Usher mentioned that it’s been ‘30 years’ now, and the Grammy winner wants “the people who have been a part of that journey to feel like it’s a celebration, for everybody, for all of us, from the beginning up till this point.”
The main goal that Usher has now come up with is to ‘take the main stage’ for R&B. He is looking forward to not just R&B music but also R&B performances, R&B connections, and R&B spirits.
