What if you get the opportunity to go through different stimuli required to love and experience the extremities? The Zone: Survival Mission got love from the audience, but they felt the first three episodes of the series were slow-paced.
The series had its moment of fun, and several viewers missed the interaction between Lee Kwong Soo and Yoo Jae-Suk. Directed by Cho Hyo-jin, the second series of the series will be unique as the cast will have to hold out for themselves for a few hours in each stimulus.
The series will establish three hosts as their representatives of humans before pushing them into eight unexpected challenges where they are faced with the challenge of surviving for four hours and not giving up.
The mystery game series stars three hosts Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Kwang-soo, and Kwon Yun, as they try to survive different stimuli. The series had two seasons with 13 episodes, and each of the episodes had a run time of 54-65 minutes. Produced by Cho Hyo-jin, the series was produced under Studio Gaon; the series first premiered on September 8, 2022.
The second season of the series was announced on November 30, 2023, by the producer of the survival series. The South-Korean survival series had a unique concept, and it was made fun for the viewers with the humor of the hosts.

The Zone: Survival Mission: Premise
The series focuses on three hosts who go through several survival stimuli and hold for four hours. The series takes the series host through specific stimulations, which trigger challenges for the group, and all the hosts have to do is survive for four hours in the virtual space with different kinds of disaster stimuli.
This time the three hosts get brought to bigger and better stimulations, and the first episode focuses on the three hosts going through Stress Zone. The first three zones of The Zone: Survival Mission is Save Zone, Automatic Zone, and Stress Zone.
The series brings the viewers to focus on mock disasters in need of attention, and at the end, the result of these disasters gets revealed to the hosts and its effect on the future. The first zone of the series is the Stress Zone which brings the viewer’s focus to the mental health of individuals.
The hosts have to go through several stressful situations and hold out for four hours. The second season begins with the introduction of the three hosts and them getting introduced to the first stimulation.
The three hosts are brought to a hospital for a health checkup. The three hosts are provided with a questionnaire to fill out while the flashbacks from the previous season are shown to the viewers.
The female host is embarrassed as everyone has to measure their weight to check out the level of water in their bodies. The doctors explain the benefit of water on one’s health and the harmful effect stress causes to an individual.
After their weight is noted, the three hosts go through a urine test before everyone from the hospital disappears, thus starting their first stimulation.
The three hosts are provided with a watch each to note the time till they are able to hold out, and if they leave before four hours, they automatically fail the challenge. In the doctor’s office, the three hosts find a bag with a wig and blood in it which increases their stress level. After several other similar stimulations, the first episode is over, and the three hosts failed to hold out for four hours, thus failing to earn any Z coins.
The second episode is titled save zone, and the three hosts are introduced to their next stimuli. They have to utilize their time wisely to win the second challenge. The three hosts are taken on a helicopter ride and abandoned on a beautiful island where they have to play golf. The five episodes of the second season gave different stimuli to the three hosts to win the challenges, and they were timed.
The Zone: Survival Mission- Filming Locations-
1. Incheon
Incheon, formerly known as Jemulpo, is a metropolitan city in South Korea selected by the production crew of The Zone: Survival Mission for the filming of some parts of the series.
The location was selected for its surreal scenic beauty and nicely made structured houses and buildings. The city is open for tourists to visit throughout the year.
2. Busan
The summer capital of Korea, also known as Busan, served as the prime location for the filming of The Zone: Survival Mission series.
Busan is one of the most populous cities in South Korea and was formerly Romanized as Pusan was used by the crew for the filming of some parts of the series. The stimulation provided in the second episode of the new season is speculated to have been filmed here.
