American singer and actress, Jessica Simpson has been singing ever since she was a child. Started first as a part of a church’s choir during her childhood and then finally signed with a proper record label called Columbia Records when she turned seventeen.
The million-selling singer has been successful ever since the start of her career, with her debut album Sweet Kisses, which came out back in 1999, selling two million copies in the United States. Her next album was, once again, a success, as she came back with a more mature image. Her third album, In This Skin, which came out in 2003, was an even bigger success.
The singer has made herself famous through her singing, of course, but there is another reason why she was so popular and relevant among fans. Her relationship and marriage with television personality, Nick Lachey, and the shows the couple did together, set around their relationship, kept them fresh in people’s memories.
Having sold over twenty million albums worldwide throughout her career, Jessica has not kept herself limited to just singing and has, instead, stepped into the world of acting as well. Her debut in the film industry was through the movie called, The Dukes of Hazzard, which came out in 2005, right after the successful release of Jessica’s Christmas album.
She continued to put out more albums for fans, not losing her position on the charts, all the while appearing in movies, including Employee of the Month, a romantic comedy. The singer gained success when she was fairly young, and while she may have achieved fame and popularity, she was still a young girl under public scrutiny.
She has had to face her fair share of hate from fans who thought her to be the ‘classic blonde type’. She has fought the hate and faced it all bravely, continuing forward with her career. Her relationship with Nick Lachey was a public ordeal, but the two ended up getting a divorce in 2006, which was also a very public event.
Jessica has since then found love once again in her life and has been married to the man since 2014. While her relationship continues to flourish, let us take a moment to look at the singer’s parents, especially her father.
Who’s Simpson’s father’s partner?
The Texas-born singer was born in 1980 to a simple family, which included her parents, her sister, Ashlee, and Jessica herself. She revealed to fans that she has moved around a lot, changing towns when growing up, having lived in Dallas and Waco.
She is known to have attended the Amelia Middle School, while her father worked in Cincinnati, Ohio, and her mother, a homemaker, took great care of the kids. Simpson was in Richardson, where she attended the J.J. Pearce High School during her teenage years, which was also the time she was preparing for a successful career as a singer.
She ended up getting her name withdrawn from the school sometime in 1997 due to the success of her career, which ended up taking most of her days. Simpson revealed having gotten her GED sometime later to at least complete her schooling at Texas Tech High School.
The singer also mentioned to fans that at some point in changing towns, she had also lived somewhere in the Midwest. Now she moved around so much during her early years all because of her father, Joseph Simpson, and his job requirements.
Though all we know about his work is that he works as a minister. Raised in a pure Christian family, Joseph was a man of faith, and he made sure his daughter followed, not only by bringing her to the church, where she ended up joining the church’s choir and discovering her love for singing but also by giving her a purity ring, when she was only twelve.
Not a lot is known about Jessica’s father though the singer does post her family and her parents a lot on her social media. Joseph Simpson was married to Jessica’s mother, Tina Ann Simpson. The two were revealed to have gotten together in 1978, and together, they had two kids.
But it turns out that after the kids were done growing up, something changed in their relationship, which led their marriage to an unfortunate end. The two got a divorce in 2013 and have been living separately in Texas, though their family meetings do bring the former couple together a few times around the year.
