Dan Levy’s film “Good Grief” centers on a widower Marc who has lost his spouse. Though Thomas and Sophie, his buddies, console him, he doesn’t feel better. After his mother passed away, Marc hurried into his marriage to an older, wealthy man to feel better.
Now that he is at his lowest, he chooses to travel to Paris with his buddies. We go through the charming city in pursuit of contentment, escape, and a sense of belonging.
Throughout the journey, Thomas and Sophie continue to be Marc’s pillars of support as he makes new friends, finds comfort in a love interest, and maybe even starts to heal in the city of love.
The Netflix movie has stunning visuals since the scenes’ moods are reflected in the surroundings and cinematography. We travel through the beautiful boulevards of France and the sophisticated avenues of London.

Wealthy folks like Marc Dreyfus (Levy), a recently bereaved American expat whose only occupation is to saunter around the lavishly furnished but mostly empty London apartment that his Adonis-like husband (Luke Evans) left for him after he was killed in an automobile accident on Christmas Eve.
Marc’s response to the tragedy of losing his young, attractive spouse is understandable—it can’t be easy to lose someone that attractive at such an early age. However, a year of sedentary yoga sessions and aggravating modern art exhibits only serves to further encapsulate Marc’s grief.
The only thing pushing Marc to move on from his melancholy is the fact that his two closest friends are dealing with personal issues. Other than that, nothing is compelling him to move on. Furthermore, Marc does not ultimately need to make money when he does, at last, have a long-overdue discussion about it with Oliver’s attorney, Celia Imrie.
Filming Locations
Paris, France
Many of the City of Lights’ well-known sites may be seen throughout “Good Grief,” which was filmed primarily there. The Vendôme Column towers tall in the middle of the vast Place Vendôme, a square located in the first arrondissement of Paris, which the characters first drive by as they arrive in the city in a taxi.
The square is where the Rue de la Paix, a famous fashion destination and historic street, starts. The magnificence of the Arc de Triomphe is visible in yet another landscape image. Located in the middle of Place Charles de Gaulle, at the intersection of its twelve radiating avenues, is the western end of the Champs-Élysées.
Constructed to commemorate the troops who fought and lost their lives in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, it is one of Paris’s most well-known monuments. We can see the Seine River, which divides Paris in half, while the pals tour the city.
The Eiffel Tower, a worldwide cultural emblem of France, is unavoidably included in the movie and can be seen from the luxurious apartment the characters are staying in.
Located in the 7th arrondissement, the tower was the world’s highest skyscraper when it was constructed and is now the most visited landmark in the world that requires an admission price.
Some of the numerous cinematic images in the film also feature the Roue de Paris, a 60-meter-tall transportable Ferris wheel located at the Place de la Concorde. While riding the attraction, Marc’s buddies validate his suffering and assist him in coming to terms with it.
