Production of Bleach was done by Studio Pierrot, and Noriyuki Abe directed it. A sequel called Who Does Meredith End Up With? All About The Beloved Grey’s Anatomy Character! premiered in October this year, and it covers the manga’s final arc. This sequel was directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and animated by Studio Pierrot.
The synopsis of Bleach is as follows. The protagonist of the story is Kurosaki Ichigo, who is a high school student. And he is no ordinary student. One particular trait makes him very special indeed. From a very young age, Ichigo could see ghosts and spirits from the afterlife.
This ability made him special. But his life changed in just one fateful day. Ichigo and his two sisters got attacked by an evil, and hungry spirit called the Hollow. Thankfully, Ichigo and his family were saved just in time by a Shinigami (god of death) named Kuchiki Rukia.
Rukia must send good spirits to the Soul Society, which is the afterlife, and purify the bad spirits before sending them to the afterlife. But when trying to save Ichigo and his sisters, Rukia gets herself injured and has to transfer her powers to Ichigo. And thus begins Ichigo’s journey to use his newly found powers to maintain the balance between the living and the dead.
Who is Isshin Kurosaki?
Isshin Kurosaki, or Isshin Shiba, is Ichigo’s father and was the captain of the 10th division. He was married to the late Masaki Kurosaki and has fathered three children, namely Ichigo, Karin, and Yuzu. Isshin used to head a Shiba clan branch and is the head of the Kurosaki family. Isshin is usually fun-loving and energetic and is always attacking his son to make him a stronger person.
When and how did Ichigo find out about his father being a Shinigami?
During the fight, Aizen began telling Ichigo how he had been watching him from the day he was born because Ichigo was half human and half Shinigami. He told him that every battle Ichigo had fought in his life had been set up by Aizen and that the outcome was controlled by him and not Ichigo.
Ichigo couldn’t believe his ears, but before he could fully react, his father, Isshin Kurosaki, appeared in a traditional Shinigami outfit ( Shihakusho) and said that Aizen talks too much.
Ichigo is stunned to see his father in Shinigami uniform, and as usual, before he can say anything, Isshin attacks Ichigo for no apparent reason, because of which he falls from the top of the building. After this, the two of them get some time to themselves.
During this time, Isshin understands that Ichigo must have a lot of questions for him and is prepared to disclose everything. But Ichigo stopped him and told him that he did not want to hear it and that he knew his father had his reasons for keeping such a big secret from him for so long.
This shocking revelation about Ichigo’s father being a Shinigami happens in Bleach Episode 298. The secret got out during the battle of the Fake Karakura Town. What happens next is that Ichigo and Isshin engage in battle together against Aizen in an attempt to defeat the powerful captain.
Ichigo fought Gin while Isshin took on Aizen and even succeeded in knocking the breath out of him. But then Aizen started his transformations caused by the Hogyoku. But even with Ichigo’s and Isshin’s combined efforts, they could not defeat Aizen, who was far too powerful for them.
