The ongoing American superhero series from Marvel Studios has been the topic of discussion on the internet. The fans of the comic book genres have been making various speculations. Each and every week they discuss the upcoming episodes in the series and make assumptions about the possible storylines. Marvel Studios is currently the biggest movie studio in the world. The movies released under their banner have totally transformed the film industry.

There have been several billion-dollar blockbusters like Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. However, the studio has very successfully entered the exclusive streaming market with its latest offerings like Wanda Vision, Loki, What If…?, and more. This has made them a big deal in the streaming genre as well. However, like their other offerings, What If…? is quite different. Surely, it is connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe just like the movies, but it has gone the animation route instead of live-action.

Although, this has not let them down by any means whatsoever. The show has gained a significant amount of popularity and has proved itself of being a worthy offering from Marvel Studios. The show stars various characters from the Marvel comics that have also appeared in the movies or other television series one way or the other. Therefore, the show has managed to garner viewers from around the world who want to see their favorite heroes in different circumstances. The concept of the show has also intrigued a lot of viewership as there are always fans who want to see the already famous superheroes in different timelines. We are now headed towards the release of What If…? Season 1 Episode 7. Although, we should take a recap of what happened in the previous episode.

What If…? Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

Episode 6 of What If…? Season 1 was released on 15th September 2021 on Disney Plus exclusively. In addition to that, the episode was titled “What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?” and it went live at 12:30 pm IST, 3 am ET, and 8 am BST. As the title suggests, the show focused on the story of Killmonger and Tony Stark in a different universe. However, the main character in the limelight was Killmonger.

The show began with the most recognizable scene in Marvel Cinematic Universe featuring Tony Stark. It was the scene in Afghanistan where he is attacked and captured by the terrorists. In the main timeline, this is the journey of Tony Stark becoming Iron Man in order to escape from the terrorist. However, here we are in the show called “What If…?” and therefore things are bound to happen differently. Here we see Killmonger come to the rescue of Tony Stark and save him from ever getting captured. This meant that now Tony Stark will never become Iron Man as he never got captured.

Tony brings Killmonger along with him and hires him as his twenty-four-seven sideman after Killmonger wins his trust by exposing Tony’s CFO. He then tells Tony about his dream to make AI drone warriors that will save countless human lives. Tony decides to fulfill his dream in order to repay him back for saving his life. They start developing the drones but need lots of Vibranium to power the machines. This is where it starts to get bad for Tony and Killmonger’s true plan is revealed.

What Is Killmonger’s True Plan In What If…? Season 1 Episode 6?

Killmonger manipulates Tony to deal with illegal traffickers of Vibranium in order to fulfill the supply. Tony sends his best friend Colonel James Rhodes on behalf of the US airforce to get the deal done. However, things go sideways when Black Panther arrives there and beats everyone. Although, he talks with James telling him that Vibranium belongs to Wakanda but Killmonger attacks both of them. He even kills Black Panther and Rhodes and puts their weapons in each other’s hands.

This infuriates the United States however Tony Stark discovers the truth as he sees the footage captured by his AI Jarvis. He confronts Killmonger and tries to kill him with one of their AI drones. But Killmonger manages to destroy the machine and also kills Tony. This further angers the US government and they decide to go to war with Wakanda thinking that they killed Tony as well. On the other hand, Killmonger arrives in Wakanda with the Vibranium trafficker’s dead body.

He even wins their trust by fighting alongside them against the US drone army and winning the war for them. Soon he takes up the mantle of the next Black Panther and achieves what he had planned from the beginning. However, Shuri learns the truth and goes to meet Pepper to tell her the truth. They both realize that they were right about Killmonger all along and he is their common enemy. Therefore, they decide to join hands and expose him. The Watcher speaks again at the end of the episode telling that there will always be heroes to protect the world no matter what.

What If…? Season 1 Episode 7: When Will It Release And What To Expect?

The animated series from Marvel Studios is now nearing its end as well for this season. What If…? Season 1 Episode 7 is going to release on 22nd September 2021 on Disney Plus exclusively. However, there is no information available about the title yet but it will go live at 3 am ET, 12:30 pm IST, and 8 am BST. There are only three more episodes left in the first season of this amazing Marvel animated series now. Each of them is going to release following the same schedule of one episode per week on Wednesdays.

In addition to that, the series is yet to feature some very popular characters in all of their glory like Thor, Captain Marvel, Gamora, and more. Furthermore, Marvel has given a small look at some of the upcoming episodes in its new mid-season teaser. We are yet to witness a different version of Thor who loves to party a lot. Then there is also a universe where Vision merged with Ultron successfully and gathered all the infinity stones. Therefore, all of this has increased the hype among the viewers and the hardcore fans even more. So it will be worth the wait to watch the last three remaining episodes in the series.
