A&E’s Zombie House Flipping still stands as one of the best renovation series that the platform has ever had. First released in January of 2016, ZHF is still going strong even 7 years after its release. The newest 5th season of this intense show premiered on December 3rd, 2022, and is the season that features the return of its original cast members from season 1.
When the show first began airing on A&E, its main cast consisted of Keith Ori, Ashlee Casserly, Peter Duke, and Justin Stamper. Each of these members was skilled in a certain part of the renovation process, which would make the job of building broken-down homes from scratch much easier. For instance, Keith was considered the builder, who wouldn’t shy away from breaking things apart.
Peter Duke was the talented designer of the group, coming up with new modern styles that would match the overall themes of the house. Justin Stamper is the project manager, making sure that everything goes according to their plan. He also gets ahold of all the important people needed to help with fixing each component of the house since zombie homes are usually in very dilapidated conditions.
Ashlee Casserly was the realtor who would come in after the house was ready to start decorating. Once the renovations were complete, Ashlee would step in and start adding the necessary furniture, decorations, and everything else to make these flipped homes presentable enough that someone would want to buy them in an instant. Up until now, Ashlee’s been very successful in this task. These furnishing either come from any remaining money they had or from their own pockets.
Zombie House Flipping: What Is The Show About?
Taking place in Orlando, Florida, each episode features our renovators searching for completely desolate and abandoned homes, called the “zombie homes,” which sell for a lot cheaper prices as compared to normal lots. They buy the properties and start breaking it all down to create the perfect modern villa or house that would guarantee them a lot of money once they put it on the market.
House Flipping shows are common enough, but to see these broken and forgotten homes be given another life is always an interesting process. It goes to show the cast’s creativity, as they have a look at these zombie homes and just know what they’re going to be working on to make it perfect for current times. This is the reason Zombie House Flipping is still ongoing with its 5th season, even after years of its initial release.
Every episode is almost an hour long and features the entire process of searching, budgeting, renovating, and decorating. The episodes end with Ashlee and the others starting the open house and selling off the property they renovated at a good price.
What Happened To The Cast Of Zombie House Flipping?
Over the years, the cast of Zombie House Flipping has changed quite a bit, especially with Peter leaving the show after a few seasons.
Ashlee Casserly
Originally from Irish Midlands, Ashlee began her career as a real estate agent when she came to the US. It’s apparent throughout the show that Ashlee’s renovation and decoration skills are beyond amazing, so it’s no surprise that she’s currently dealing with multi-million dollar deals that revolve around renovating modern homes. Her Instagram is filled with updates on the show as well as the other projects that she’s become part of for now. She and Justin Stamper, another cast member from the show, are married.
Justin Stamper
The cast member that has always been living in Orlando, Justin, became a house flipper at the age of 19. This sparked his interest in the profession, and he soon began a real career in renovations. Along with his wife, Ashlee, Justin owns the company Blueprint Real Estate Group. Aside from earning most of his income from house flipping on the A&E show, Justin also makes a lot of money through his real estate company.
Peter Duke
Although he may not be a part of Zombie House Flipping anymore, Peter can still be seen renovating random homes on his social media. He was brought up in Petersburg and developed an interest in real estate after he renovated one of his own homes.
Keith Ori
Keith is probably the craziest yet the most skilled out of all the cast members. He likes to work at his own pace most of the time, even on zombie House Flipping. Ever since Keith Ori was a child, he had been fascinated by abandoned and desolate homes.
When he wanted to buy another house for his family, Keith decided to renovate all of the parts on his own. Asides from currently being on the show, Keith has been working on several renovation projects. He has also won a Preservation award for the work he does in rebuilding zombie homes.
At present, Zombie House Flipping is available to stream on A&E, Hulu, and Apple TV.
