Blippi originated as a one-man YouTube endeavor to provide excellent preschool children’s programming. Stevin John noticed his nephew viewing poorly done and subpar kids’ content on YouTube. John was one in charge of the video’s filming, editing, and character development. He was inspired by Blippi’s outfit, which his mother created because he was raised in a small town with tractors, trucks, and cars.
In order to provide kids between the ages of 2 and 7 with good quality educational entertainment, Stevin John created the Blippi YouTube channel in 2014. The protagonist of the narrative is active, inquisitive, and childlike, just like his audience. An orange and blue beanie hat, orange braces, a blue shirt, and an orange bow tie makeup Blippi’s costume. The channel has amassed more than 16 million subscribers and more than 10 billion views since the start of the show. The wildly popular preschool franchise is one of the most well-liked YouTube channel owners, and its Netflix series is among the most admired children’s content on the streaming service.
Who is Meekah?
The show features another character besides Blippi, named Meekah. Meekah, who co-hosts the show with Blippi and enjoys singing and utilizing movement to express herself, is Blippi’s best friend and joins Blippi on all of his educational adventures. She is constantly experimenting, developing new things, and encouraging her friends to “give it a whirl.” She has the ability to create anything and is always thinking about how everything works.
What happened to Meekah, Blippi’s best friend?
Meekah and Blippi aren’t competitors, and Meekah can be thought of as the brainchild of Blippi himself and an expansion of the Blippi world and a potential growth tactic for its wildly popular playlists and videos.
Ever since the character’s debut, young children have always adored Meekah just as much as they loved Blippi. Meekah and Blippi are now able to continue developing and producing engaging material and films for kids, thanks to their success.

A lot of focus was on Cocomelon when Candle Media, the Blackstone-backed content rollup run by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, acquired Moonbug Entertainment last year for $3 billion in valuation.
Both Meekah and Blippi’s videos are currently available on two distinct channels and YouTube accounts. Meekah and Blippi have previously collaborated on videos for the Blippi franchise; however, Meekah has been introduced as a new character on a different YouTube channel after the acquisition.
Future Plans for the Blippi Franchise
In an effort to cash in on the potential of the Blippi world, Moonbug Entertainment plans to expand the size of its children’s empire on Netflix.
There is speculation of the first Blippi spin-off series, which will debut on Netflix with Kaitlin Becker’s Meekah as its lead character. Meekah, a television series, will reportedly make its Netflix debut in English, Spanish, and Portuguese-speaking nations on December 1.

“Meekah is our first character to join the Blippi universe, and fans have taken to her right away. In fact, the number of viewers for the episodes that include Meekah has increased by a factor of two,” according to Andy Yeatman, managing director of Moonbug Entertainment’s Americas division. “This is such an exciting milestone for the Blippi franchise; we can’t wait to see how kids continue to connect with this character on and off the screen.”
Fun has been incorporated into current methods of learning and studying, all thanks to Meekah’s vibrant and enthusiastic persona. These YouTube videos have the potential to drastically change how the minds of young children work, and even the parents seem to be quite happy to be able to expose their kids to engaging and intellectually educational quality content.
