Joan Sebastian passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 64 years old. The late earlier admitted at that time that his battle against cancer had been initially difficult while saying how he returned to life three times, and on all three, he had fought hard. The Mexican star admitted that the hardest moment was the first time when he gave it too much importance and how he would sit to wait for the doctors’ orders, and that is when he was closest to death.
He recounted those moments and later realized how the applause made him better, that his contact with his audience was what made him cling to life. He soon discovered the most vital aspect of his battle, as he honestly thought the story would be different if he did not have his fans’ support.

Joan Sebastian’s son was Julián Figueroa. Like his father, he, too, had a career in the music industry as a successful ballad singer. Sadly, Julian has passed away. He was just 27 years old. Julian’s mother and actress, Maribel Guardia, has confirmed the devastating news.

As Maribel took to Instagram, informing how they found Julian unconscious in his room and later, when the ambulance arrived, the police authorities found him dead. While there was no sign of violence, it was the medical report that confirmed that Julian died due to an acute heart attack.
While asking for some privacy during this difficult time, Maribel stated that while she would like to communicate with all the people who are trying to reach her but she really does not have the strength to do it yet. Julian’s wife also penned down a heartbreaking note saying how the late artist is now in a better place next to his father but has left her with her heart broken.
Joan Sebastian Opens Up About His Work
The iconic star once opened up about his work in an early interview, saying how he does not make up songs but lives songs while adding how his songs are a response to feelings, to what he has lived as he believed that the important thing is that the songs be sincere and that they are truthful.
Joan Sebastian was first diagnosed with bone cancer back in 1999, but he still fought against all odds and continued to perform until 2014. It was then he announced during a performance in Zacatecas that he had been receiving treatment for a recurrence of cancer. The late star’s love for his children was often shown through his music, like in “Julián,” the song which he wrote for Figueroa almost 23 years ago.
