Sadly enough, Gold Rush star Fred Rush has passed away. He was 80 years old. His family further confirmed the devastating news. The miner was struggling through Stage 4 brain cancer. He passed away just four months after Fred announced his cancer diagnosis.
As a statement has been issued regarding the tragic news, the statement says how Fred fought courageously in his battle against cancer and had managed to touch many lives, and was loved and supported by many. Cable network Discovery has also issued a statement expressing deep sorrow while calling the late miner a treasured member of the Gold Rush family while sharing their condolences with his family and all those who loved him.
Earlier, while talking about his cancer diagnosis, Fred stated that he has managed to live a full 80 years of an interesting life while saying that if he manages to emerge from this dark diagnosis, he will have another adventure to share with his folks. The team of Gold Rush has mourned the loss of such a lively man who left behind so much through his work.

Who Was Fred Hurt’s Wife?
Fred Hurt’s wife is Jennifer Sheets. She has made a few appearances as she has earlier seen cooking for the mining crews as they wanted to look up for gold in the creeks of Haines Borough. The two reportedly tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2016.
During his time on the show, Fred Hurt came under fire after he was accused of stealing a claim in Porcupine Creek. Fred later stated that he wanted to write a book to explain the events that transpired, and later continued filming his series in order to show folks that he was a serious and responsible miner and not the dastardly claim jumper that was allegedly falsely portrayed on television. The statement stated that the team is deeply saddened to learn of Fred Hurt‘s passing while remembering him and saying how his joy for life and adventure was contagious. The Good Rush team further shared their heartfelt condolences with his family, friends, and all who loved Fred.
While Fred is not with us anymore, his family has issued a statement saying that anyone who wants to make donations can consider donating; they can do that in the Mike Rowe Foundation in Fred’s honor. As the late miner always worked in skilled labor for the majority of his career, he was also equally passionate about teaching others these valuable skills to others.
