Why Did Gina Torres Leave Suits?
Gina Torres left Suits because her busy traveling and work schedule was seemingly not sitting well with her personal life. The actress later confirmed the same Ina n early interview Torres stated that her constant traveling between filming in Toronto and her home in Los Angeles was taking its toll. She also added that her contract was up, so she believes that it was not a power play that went wrong.
It seems like the actress’ contract is over, and she also took the decision to spend more quality time with her daughter with ex-husband Laurence Fishburne. Torres explained that the public doesn’t understand the rigors of shooting a show for an actor and the issue when one is on location and away from home.
The Suits star revealed that at one point, she approached series showrunner Aaron Korsh and explained to him that it is her life and she needs to take care of it.

What Was The Alternate Ending For Gina Torres?
Series Showrunner Aaron Korsh has earlier revealed in an interview that the makers initially planned to kill Torres! Korsh revealed that in his mind, Jessica would make this big decision that would go off into the sunset with Jeff Malone (played by DB Woodside).

The Showrunner explained that he did not think they were going to see it nor were going to hear about it and how the initial plan of killing off the character would shatter everyone, and the show would do a two-year time jump afterward. However, the makers ultimately did not go ahead with this plan.
What Happened To Gina Torres?
After Gina Torres exited from Suits, Torres soon landed her spin-off show titled Pearson. The spin-off series went off to set up her brand new storyline in the series. The spin-off showed Jessica entering the world of Chicago politics.
The actress admitted that when she stepped away from her role, she started to miss Jessica and started wondering about her real-life character’s future career. Torres revealed that she just started working the scenario in her head and brought it up with her agent.
While talking about her decision to return, the actress admitted that she had no desire to revisit the character when she left Suits. She further said that she thought she was done, and then some time went by, and she started thinking about herself and started to think about what she might be doing and revealed that it just happened to coincide with the 2016 election.
While talking about the spin-off, the actress explained that she started thinking about Jessica and what she might have done in the political arena, and believes that her character is so good at and that was the seed that gave them this show.
