Tanya had me literally in tears and then The trailer came I’m finished, I’m absolutely finished and this is why I watched the show. Episode 35 left us with Will and Jessie sharing their “I love you’s”. So Love Island Season 9 Episode 36 starts with Jessie and Will talking their hearts out. While speaking to Will Jessie says, “I really do believe that you love me. And that’s like the only reason I was so shocked and upset.” Then she goes on to say, “Will, loves me and I love him. I am so happy”.
There really wasn’t much to this conversation. Basically, Jessie hasn’t fully forgiven him, she still expects some effort, some kind of groveling for her affection back. But she said I love you in return. She says that’s her best friend and she doesn’t want anybody else. So Game or not, she’s been really stuck on the mission. She has not veered from the mission for a second and you gotta give her credit.
What Happened Last Night On Love Island Season 9 Episode 36?
So at the start of Love Island Season 9 Episode 36, the villa decides that Ron and Lana should be the ones to go in the Hideaway this time. So Ron and Lana head over to the Hideaway, and have some fun, but they didn’t have sex like the other couples that went ti the Hideaway.
Olivia is burning at the fact that Kai will not give her the apology she yearns for. While speaking to Kai Olivia says “I do expect some apology for those comments”. To this, Kai straight away says “I’m not apologizing for anything. I wasn’t smug, I was just happy for you. And we’ll just leave it then.” Then at the end of the conversation, Olivia says “Honestly, it’s like talking to a brick wall.”
She’s pressing him for an answer as to why he thinks she’s fake and disingenuous or at least an apology and he is saying “No, I am not apologizing”. Oh, I love Kai. The turnaround of Kai is just amazing. I wish we could have brought Samam in from the beginning because maybe he would have been more bearable throughout the season.
Some people are saying, “well, Kai’s been rude and whatever”. I’m like, “Has Olivia been kind to Kai?” All Olivia does is backbite. All Olivia does is know how to speak under her breath and say condescending things. Please, there is no sympathy for Olivia, not for one damn second. So Kai keep up the energy
Tanya Is Moving Back To Shaq
Before everyone goes to bed, Tanya slips out of bed like a thief in the night, heads downstairs, and gives Shaq a kiss. Damn it Shaq, you fumbled too quickly. I wouldn’t even have been upset if they got back together. Obviously, we knew that’s where it was going, they were both struggling with not being together, and she clearly wasn’t giving Martin the attention that he was looking for. So like, we saw it coming, but I just wanted just a little bit more effort from Tanya before he came back to her, but yeah, it is what it is.
These two were exclusive, these two have had sex. They have said that they love each other, multiple times and they mutually agreed to be exclusive. In my opinion, I’ve never told anybody I’m exclusive with them, but if I did, the assumption is you are no longer looking around.
Yes, they are not boyfriend and girlfriend. But what’s the point of agreeing to be exclusive if you’re still gonna move like you’re not exclusive? Like, that’s the dissonance for me. I don’t hate Tanya, but it’s just the rationale constantly just confuses me because you say one thing and you do another thing and I’m like, “girl, what’s the game plan?”
However, I am not liking the comparison between Dami & Indiyah and Martin & Tanya. People are saying that Martin & Tanya are Dami & Indiyah 2.0. But guys the only similarities between the two of them are that Martin is Irish Nigerian and that everyone in this scenario is black. Like the storylines are not the same, truly, but whatever.
In the morning debrief, Shaq says that if things were to progress between him and Tanya, she would have to dead things with Martin and grovel a little bit. Well, safe to say, things are gonna die between her and Martin, real soon. It’s foresight for me because I knew that this was going to happen. One, I made the comparison between him and Dami because they’re both Irish and Nigerian. But I called him Damisha because there’s a sass to Martin. And there’s nothing wrong with a sassy boy.
Olivia Is Being So Delusional
Sanam pulls Olivia in for a chat to check in on her after her conversation with Kai. And she swears up and down that she does not know where this is fake and disgenuine trope that Kai putting on her is coming from.
So while speaking to Sanam Olivia says “I’m not surprised and I feel like he’s [Kai] kind of just throwing it back in my face. I was still quite torn with my decision. It wasn’t, like, an easy decision at all.” Then Olivia goes on to say about Sanam that “she’s really separated my friendship with her and her situation with Kai, which I respect so much”.
Well, Olivia, let’s break it down. Let’s first go through the Zara situation. The way you handled Tom, basically made it seem like you really wanted him so, so, so, so bad. And as soon as Zara left, you didn’t pay that man any mind. We saw you put in no effort toward Kai, but all of a sudden. Bow that you had no options, you had feelings for Kai on the low all the while?
Tanyel was supposedly your bestie, your best friend, but you wanted to talk about her behind her back? Have little key keys with Shaq and whoever on the low? It made no damn sense. And as soon as you’ve been back from Casa, all you can do is talk under your breath about every single girl in this damn villa and then turn around and say “I’m a girl’s girl”. You’re fake. And in the words of Lana, “Olivia is an actress”.
Martin Is Not Shaq For Tanya
Tanya tells Jessie that she had a secret rendezvous with Shaq. And she feels like, between her and Martin, things are just not there physically. And I don’t know, you guys hear me out. It could possibly be the fact that Tanya, you like attention. So while speaking to Jessie, Tanya says “Last night I went to Shaq, and gave him the tightest hug ever. And I gave him a kiss, like a really nice long kiss. And I have realized the physical is not there with Martin. And it’s just making me wonder why is that that the physical is not there.”
Listen, Tanya, I’m with you, I am 1000% with you. When you get attention from a man that you find attractive, it feels nice to her, it feels good to be pursued, it feels good to be desired, and it feels good to be wanted. But at the end of the day, Martin wasn’t Shaq. Tanya said that anybody to turn her head had to be Shaq and more. Martin was never Shaq from the beginning. It was giving cloud chasing from the beginning. Something about Martin was very performative and it did not make sense to me.
And I feel like because he would respond to her, it felt like whatever they had was mutual, but it was Tanya putting in the effort. I did not see Martin do any effort. The man did nothing, and he gave us nothing. So I’m not surprised that she’s not feeling it anymore.
Tanya then talks to Martin, who feels like he’s putting in effort and not receiving any in return. So while speaking to Tanya, Martin Says “I feel like I’m getting nothing back. The conversation just feels stiff. If it was like it was not there from the start, I’d get it, but he was there. I feel like a stupid boy.” To this, while being alone Tanya says “He doesn’t even know that he has pushed me to the edge.”
Casa was different because Tanya was laying it on thick on Martin and now she’s giving him nothing. So I can see why he’s just like, “yo, things have shifted”. However, Martin has never put in an effort, from what I perceive. And whatever was there, that was the no effort, has even become less in the villa.
Martin, don’t look for issues, you were never really into this girl, so please be honest. And I know and the first little circuit of them doing interviews and podcast and Instagram lies, Martin’s going to make it seem like there was something there. But it gives it about three months, and the real feelings that Martin really had for Tanya, they’re gonna come out.
Tanya And Martin End Things
Tanya is, of course, wrestling with the feelings that she has for Shaq and it’s becoming harder and harder to deal with them. And so she goes over to him and basically lets him know like her heart is literally breaking in his absence. And slowly Shaq is forgiving her.
Shaq, we must stay focused. I wanted him to wait a little bit longer. We knew he was gonna take her back. But boy, did he crumble. But it’s kind of cute, I can’t lie. Like, you know, when you got your person and there’s not much the person can do to really turn you off for real. So I’m glad they’re working on things, but I just wanted a little bit more resistance.
Bro, Tanya is really hilarious. Tanya then let’s Martin know that things have changed from Casa to here. Did the man not just say that exact thing? So Tanya says to Martin, “From Casa to here, there’s a drastic change. I have really decided to not even put Shaq in the picture. Not even split me into two, which I cannot physically do.” To this Martin says “I know what you’re saying, but I don’t like, totally agree with you putting your energy or whatnot. I was gonna tell you that I’m done with you as well.”
Martin has been done for a long time. We can tell, OK. He’s been very disengaged and did not want to be a part of this connection whatsoever. However, I think that he was going to keep things ambiguous just to secure his spot in the villa. I don’t think he was gonna make a cut-and-dry decision of, “OK, well, I’m done with this”. Because, who else does he have in the villa? He’s got nobody.
There’s nobody else who’s single. And I don’t see anybody coming in for him specifically. So I’m not surprised that he wanted to end things. But the downside is now Tanya can go and say she ended things. And that’s kind of the story that she’s going with. She’s saying that she decided to end things. Sometimes, she says it’s mutual, and sometimes she says it was her decision. So I’m just like, “you know Martin, you could have played it better, but you didn’t. And here we are.”
Tanya’s Grand Apology
I was so ready to cut off the episode and I’m glad I waited because after Tanya took the stage and made her grand gesture to Shaq. Because, well, the offense was grand, so the apology must be grand.
So in front of everyone, Tanya says to Shaq, “I can’t Imagine the embarrassment that you felt in the head and how disappointed you were in me. Being in bed and you’re not there, has been really hard for me. I don’t care about winning. I don’t care about anyone speaking to me. I only want you.”
The cuts to Martin had me in tears, literal tears. I love that for Tanya and Shaq. But this whole thing was just hilarious to me. Like, I was like “Tanya this was so unnecessary”. Not the gesture, but the whole Casa experience and the aftermath. Like, it didn’t even have to be like this.
You could have easily hashed out the issues that you had with the man, instead of going and doing what the men always say “Well, I needed to do the test to really see that I have these strong feelings for you.” Like every year we look at the men and say, “why you gotta do that? That’s so unnecessary”. And here you are doing the same thing, Tanya.
