What Did You Eat Yesterday? tells the story of two men living together and struggling with the ugly truth of life. Despite their life being on the verge of breakdown, both sit together for dinner and talk over their problems.
Kakei Shiro is a 45-year-old lawyer who works in a very small law firm and is always in a financial crunch. Due to this, he always tries to maintain a budget of 25,000 yen for food and doesn’t go overboard.
Whereas his partner, Yabuki Kenji, who is a dresser a few years younger than him, loves to enjoy food made by Shiro at the end of the day. Both of them have been living together for over five years, and despite small arguments and quarrels, they are gentle to each other and respect each other decisions.
Season 2 deals with the couple entering their 50s, which brings new problems to their relationship. They will argue, misunderstand, cry and laugh together. And as always the food made by Shiro will bring jolly to Kenji.
Shiro and Kenji will be more conscious about their relationship. Their heartwarming moments and confesses to each other will melt our modern times hearts. This drama gives off a perfect retro love vibe which makes it sweeter.
