Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto is a side/supporting Character from Bleach Anime & Manga series. He is the Captain-Commander of Gotei 13 and 1st Division Captain withholding the highest authority of Gotei. Also, he was the founding and oldest member of Gotei 13 in Soul Society.
He appeared to be an old man with a long beard, and he had scars on his forehead and torso, suggesting that he had fought numerous battles in the past, but the two most prominent battle scars on his forehead were from the battle between his lieutenant-.Chōjirō Sasakibe. Despite being an old man, he has a very muscular and well-built body, he wears a common Shinigami captain uniform, but his size looks bigger. He wears his haori over his back instead of wearing it.
His Shikai and Bankai name is Ryūjin Jakka and Zanka no Tachi respectively and his Bankai is strongest and rarest “Fire” based Bankai in all soul society. He was approximately 2100 years old, as told in Manga, and fought many battles; his most popular battle was 2000 years ago with Quincy king YHWACH, but Yamamoto defeated him and his subordinates with ease.

What chapter does Yamamoto die in?
Bleach TYBW: Episode 6
The Head captain of the 1st Division died in both Manga and Anime in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc by his eternal enemy- YHWACH.
In the latest episode of Bleah: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 6, in this episode viewers see that he died at the hand of YHWH with Quincy’s sword after he abducted his Bankai that can be used by only Quincy’s King YHWACH.
It was shown in the Anime that Yamamoto died at the end of episode 6. In Manga, Yamamoto died at the end of Chapter 510- The Extinction, but in Chapter 511- Die Standing, we see the actual death of our beloved Head Captain Yamamoto die standing by saying I Probably won’t Come Back Here Again…
In Chapter 510,
We see the fight between YHWACH and Yamamoto to the full extent, in which Yamamoto shows his Powerful Bankai Zanka no Tachi and uses it against YHWACH to defeat him one more time as he did in the past (1000 years ago). At the end of the Chapter, he did defeat him, but as we know, YHWACH is a very powerful villain, and he uses his subordinate- Stern bitter “Y” as bait to halt Yamamoto while he was gone to Sosuke Aizen to free him and asks him to join but sadly he refused to join the hand with YHWACH when he came in the battlefield, he stole the Bankai of Yamamoto and used his Quincy Sword to cut Yamamoto in half.
In Chapter 511, it picks up the story where it left off in Chapter 510, this chapter shows the aftermath of Yamamoto’s death as all the captains are in pain, and YHWACH assembles all his subordinates behind him to fully destroy the soul society. As YHWACH begins to start havoc, he feels the strong Reiatsu and gets shocked; the chapter ends there.
