TLC’s reality series, Welcome To Plathville Season 5, will be releasing its Episode 2 soon. Now that Olivia has reconnected with her sister Lydia, it’s unlikely that she and Moriah will be getting back to the way they were anytime soon.
Known for its drama-filled reality shows, TLC came out with Welcome to Plathville back in 2019, where we were introduced to The Plaths, a family that used to live in rural regions of Georgia. After four whole seasons, Welcome to Plathville returned with its latest 5th Season in Early September 2023.
Although all of the Plath family members are seen on the show, the spotlight is currently on Moriah, Olivia & Ethan, Barry and Kim. Olivia and Moriah used to be best buds, but now they’ve chosen to end their years-long friendship, putting Ethan in a tug-of-war between his family and Olivia.
Welcome to Plathville Season 5 Episode 2: Recap
In Episode 2 of Welcome To Plathville Season 5, Micah and Barry bond at the gym. Micah is happy to see his father go back to the way he was, especially since he was going through tough times with Kim. In Tampa, Florida, Olivia prepares to host a much-awaited meeting with her sister Lydia, whom she hasn’t met ever since she got married to Ethan.
When she arrives, Lydia is surprised to see Ethan there too. Lydia later talks about the time Olivia and her parents had made her the scapegoat of the family for years before they realized that she was an important part of their family, too. Now that Olivia and Moriah ended their friendship, Lydia was the only person Olivia could rely on to be a friend.
Lydia is sad that Moriah is no longer on good terms with them but is looking forward to spending time with her sister. In Tallahassee, Kim and Mama Su have some breakfast together and talk about Kim’s major changes in her life since she last met her.
Kim was now completely over Barry and no longer looking forward to living with him. She was now ready to move on and live her life independently without Barry.
Lydia and Olivia head over to a sunny beach to celebrate her upcoming birthday. On the way, the sisters talk about their strict childhood and Olivia’s now messy relationship with Ethan’s family. Moriah heads to the farm with Barry to have a change of scene and some calmness.
Moriah feels like the past few weeks have been very hard for her, especially since both Ethan and Olivia seem to be against her. Hitting rock bottom made Moriah realize that she needed God by her side. Barry is glad to see his daughter trying her best to be happy and faithful; they all look forward to Moriah being Baptized.

Welcome to Plathville Season 5: Preview
In the upcoming episode of Welcome to Plathville, we’ll be seeing Micah and Kim finalize divorce proceedings and discuss how it’ll all go down. What surprises Micah is that even though Barry and her are still in the middle of a divorce, Kim has already moved on and is looking forward to dating someone new.
Moriah is now ready to take the next step of healing, so she’ll be gearing up to get baptized in the next episode. Barry seems to be enjoying and reconnecting with his children for now.
