A normal mocumentary with not-so-normal characters, Welcome To Flatch will be back with another comical episode this week. The show focuses on townies’ lives in the Ohio Town of Flatch. This series is based on the British comedy “This Country,” which was released in 2017.
Produced by Jenny Bicks and Paul Feig, Welcome to Flatch was first aired on March 17th, 2022. It had a total of 14 Episodes, each dealing with an adventure that Shrub and Kelly would go on. The eccentric lives accompanied by the awkward humor made the show a hit, causing it to be renewed for another part.
This season, we will be meeting a new character, Barb Flatch, whose pretentiously grand life will now be overshadowed by the town and the people in it. With a new cast and talented actors like Seann William Scott already on the show, Welcome to Flatch will be redefining its place in the list of Docu-comedy sitcoms.
Welcome to Flatch: The Story so Far
Somehow, simple lives end up being more entertaining than reality shows due to their relatability. Welcome to Flatch is an example of such a kind of show that is slow-paced, awkward, and funny when it needs to be.
The show revolves mostly around Kelly and Shrub but occasionally shifts to the lives of other members. The 2nd season started with Shrub having his grandmother’s house all to himself when she went for surgery in Mexico and decided to stay there.
The town has a tradition of giving the oldest person there a special cane, which would be passed on to the next older person once they die. Now that Shrub’s grandmother was gone, Nadine, a resident of the town, asked for it to be passed on to Granny Flatch with a celebratory parade.
She also invited Flatch’s daughter, Barb, from Florida. Barb is quite an interesting character, played by the Model, Jaime Pressly. We are also introduced to new hobbies that the father Joe and his wife, Cheryl have been working on. Cheryl has been into raising hens while Joe has been working on making his beer. Kelly has a younger half-sister now that she babysits like her own daughter.
With all these new storylines, it’ll be interesting to see what Welcome to Flatch has in store for us next.
Welcome To Flatch Season 2 Episode 2: Recap
The latest episode that came out on October 6, 2022, was titled Blackout. We saw that Kelly and Shrub started living together as Shrub’s crib was bought by Barb Flatch. As for Barb, she’s been focusing on starting her own business in the town by selling bottled water and becoming a real estate agent.
Cheryl sets up multiple table fans around the chicken coop as Flatch has been getting hot lately. Nadine and her husband have been preparing for a gender reveal party, and the cake is a special two-tier ice cream cake. Unfortunately for her, the town experiences a power outage.
Only the church ends up having electricity, thanks to Mandy’s survival skills. Everyone from the town comes over to the church, causing entertaining chaos. Nadine’s cake starts melting, but the freezer is taken over by a woman from the town, June. Not wanting to waste it, she decides to hold the gender reveal party in the church.
The party goes well, and the gender of the baby is revealed to be a boy. Shrub then has a burial for his lizard, Jojo.

Welcome To Flatch Season 2 Episode 3 will release on October 13, 2022, and it is titled “Maniflatch Destiny”. New episodes of Welcome to Flatch are aired every Thursday with 21-minute episodes.

Now that Shrub was asked to move out by Kelly, he’ll try to be more independent. As a starting point, Father Joe will teach him how a car works. His wife Cheryl’s chickens are in their hatching season, and those surplus eggs are enough for the whole town.
