Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun is the anime adaptation of a very popular isekai manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Nishi. The anime series was produced by Bandai Namco Pictures and has received high ratings on many platforms and very positive responses from fans. With that being said, let me give you a quick recap of the storyline of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun.
The anime is about a 14-year-old boy named Iruma Suzuki. Iruma is a troubled teenager who struggles to make ends meet by working minimum wage jobs, and he doesn’t receive any help from his parents ever. His parents are greedy, so much so that they sold Iruma, their child, to a demon named Sullivan.
Afraid at first of what might happen, Iruma soon realizes that Sullivan does not want to cause any harm to him and that he only needs a grandchild because he often gets lonely in the demon world.
Sullivan takes great care of Iruma and treats him with kindness, something Iruma didn’t receive from his parents. Gradually Irumi accepts this as his reality and goes along with it.
All the fun turns into fear when Sullivan enrolls Iruma in the Demon School, a place where all demons come to study and test their magical powers to prove their might. Iruma has to keep his human identity hidden. If someone realizes that he’s human, it might become the reason for his demise.
Iruma comes to know that Sullivan is the principal of the school, and so everyone expects him to become the next “Demon King.” Lacking any magical powers or any other demonic capabilities, our protagonist has to survive in this world.
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun: Season 3 Episode 17 Recap
The harvesting season is nearing its end, and Iruma and his friends try to figure out a way to bloom the “Legend Leaf.” They successfully assemble the vas of ending and the seed of beginning. Lead mentions a spell he saw the administration perform and believes that it would make the seed bloom, but he fails in his attempt.
Naphula pours some water on the seed from a mysterious pot which makes it glow. Iruma and Lead then use the same spell again, “Quan-Quan.” The seed still doesn’t bloom, and Irumi realizes that it might be because he exhausted all his mana. He asks for help from Clara, to which she readily agrees. With enough mana at hand, Irumi and Lead finally bloom the Legend Leaf, and the festival ends. The Leaf looks like a purple ball which is not befitting the title of “the legend leaf,” which worries Irumi.
At the meeting point, everyone is expecting Irumi and Lead to return with the Legend Leaf and become victorious but is shocked at seeing how weird the legend leaf looks. Iruma and Lead receive 50,000 points each. Iruma believes he’ll win for sure but is defeated by Orobas, who secured 58,000 points.
Orobas is not content with his win, and suddenly someone points out that the school did not give Iruma and Lead points for the “seed of beginning” and “vase of endings.” After the recalculations, Iruma and Lead declared victorious, and everyone celebrated.
Everyone hears a strange voice and soon realizes it’s the Legend Leaf talking. Legend Leaf tells Iruma that only the “least demonic demon” could ever bloom him and praises Iruma. The Legend Leaf then announces a reward for the Young King, and the season ends.
