She stated how Billy had been fighting a long, hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years, and that he did everything he could to control the disease as he loved his family, his friends, and his beloved fans. However, sadly enough, in the end, the disease won the fight, and he had to succumb to it.

His The Young and the Restless co-star, Eileen Davidson, penned down a note, saying how Billy’s infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of them as they were lucky enough to have him in our lives while saying how his mischievous smile will be missed.
All My Children alum, Rebecca Budig, also remembered the late actor as someone who was kind and generous to a fault while calling the news of his death, a tough one. The actor’s management is requesting that donations be made in the actor’s honor to the children’s care center, to which he gave a huge shout-out when he accepted his Daytime Emmy Award in 2014, under the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
