One of the most acclaimed Warhammer 40,000 novels is officially returning with a sequel. Games Workshop has announced The Wicked and the Warped, a follow-up to Robert Rath’s widely praised The Infinite and the Divine. The new novel reunites fan-favorite Necron rivals Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner, continuing one of the franchise’s most entertaining character rivalries.
The announcement came through Warhammer Community, confirming that Rath will return as the author. While a release date has not yet been revealed, the news has already generated excitement among Warhammer 40,000 readers.
Trazyn and Orikan return for another unlikely alliance
Unlike many Warhammer 40,000 stories centered on the Imperium or Space Marines, The Infinite and the Divine stood out by focusing entirely on two Necron characters. The novel chronicled the centuries-long feud between Trazyn the Infinite, an obsessive collector of historical relics, and Orikan the Diviner, a powerful Cryptek and master astrologer.
According to Games Workshop, the sequel will force the longtime rivals to work together after an expedition disappears on a Chaos-corrupted planet. The pair must investigate what happened while steering the dangers of Chaos, even if they continue arguing every step of the way.

Originally released in 2020, The Infinite and the Divine earned widespread praise for combining classic Warhammer action with humor rarely seen in the setting. The novel balanced galaxy-spanning conflicts with the petty rivalry between its immortal protagonists, giving readers a fresh perspective on the Necrons.
To celebrate the sequel announcement, Games Workshop has also confirmed that The Infinite and the Divine will receive a new hardcover reprint, giving fans another opportunity to add the novel to their collections before the next chapter arrives.
Although The Wicked and the Warped does not yet have a release window, its announcement marks the long-awaited return of two of Black Library’s most beloved characters, promising another adventure filled with Chaos, ancient rivalries, and Robert Rath’s signature blend of wit and Warhammer lore.
