Classic anime fans have another reason to expand their physical media collections this August. MediaOCD has announced a new selection of Discotek Media releases available for pre-order through its website, continuing the company’s ongoing Discotek Deep Dives initiative. The program focuses on bringing titles from Discotek’s extensive catalog to modern home video audiences, with new selections introduced each month.
The August 2026 lineup covers a particularly broad range of anime, spanning television series, movies, OVAs and other Japanese productions. Among the most prominent releases are GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka – Complete Collection, all three seasons of Kyo Kara Maoh!, and Kyo Kara Maoh! R: The Complete OVA Collection. Collectors can also find multiple Lupin III releases, four Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha titles, and a 4K UHD edition of Space Adventure Cobra: The Movie.
Discotek Deep Dives Expands Its August Anime Blu-ray Lineup
The August pre-order selection includes City Hunter 3: The Complete Third Series, Cutie Honey: The Live, Humanoid Monster Bem, IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix, Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, Kite: Integral Version, Lovely Complex: The Movie, and Mazinger Edition Z: The Impact!.
The lineup also features Mazinkaiser VS Great General of Darkness, Ninja Robots Tobikage, Ninja Scroll: The Series, Reborn!: Special Fan Disc, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Terrifying Girls’ High School: Animal Classmates, and Treasure Island: The 1978 Animated Series Collection.

Several notable crossover and franchise releases are included as well. These include Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan: The Movie, Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan: The Special, and the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha titles Season 1, A’s, Reflection, and Detonation.
MediaOCD Continues Its Focus on Anime Preservation
According to MediaOCD, the August titles are available for pre-order now and are expected to ship in the coming weeks. The monthly Discotek Deep Dives initiative encourages collectors to regularly revisit the catalog as additional classic anime releases become available.
