After nearly three years of waiting, Volcano Princess has officially received a Nintendo Switch release date.
The fantasy parenting RPG will launch digitally on the Nintendo eShop on July 30, 2026, while a free prologue demo is available to download now. The release date reveal follows the game’s original Switch announcement in 2023.
Volcano Princess finally heads to Nintendo Switch
Developed by Egg Hatcher and now published on Switch by Colorful Palette, Volcano Princess combines life simulation, RPG progression, and parenting mechanics in a medieval fantasy setting. Players take on the role of a parent raising their daughter while steering a kingdom threatened by the return of the demonic Owl Princess.
The Nintendo Switch version also includes additional content such as new maps, storylines, and items. While players can experience the opening portion through the newly released demo, save data from the demo will not carry over to the full game.
The core appeal of Volcano Princess lies in its branching narrative. Every decision influences the daughter’s personality, relationships, career, and future, leading to more than 50 possible endings, including over 20 emotional story routes.
Outside the main story, players can guide their daughter through activities like farming, cooking, fishing, horse racing, dueling, dancing, drama, and other life-simulation mechanics. These choices create highly personalized playthroughs, making each ending feel unique.
Following a lengthy period of silence after its original Switch announcement, the game’s confirmed release gives Nintendo players their first opportunity to experience one of the most well-received parenting simulation RPGs released in recent years.
