Movies and TV shows have always been a great help when it comes to adaptations of books. Now, we are not saying that they are good or up to the mark, but, and it’s a big but, we can’t also deny that these adaptations [a] bring our favorite stories on screen for us and several other non-readers and [b] sometimes, they even help us discover a lesser known book/ book series.
A few years ago, we stumbled upon this sweet and simple show called Virgin River, which was recommended to us by a friend. So, here’s a thing, we mostly like shows which revolve around some drama, person, or mission or, basically, a show that has something going on, IYKWIM. But this show had not much drama but good vibes.
Now, we don’t mind sweet stories, but they just feel too surreal. Yet, we finished the show [yay for us] and couldn’t help but admit that we liked it. Although we were bothering our friends for days, asking them what the point was of the show, what the deal was, and what the whole show was about, it was a good experience watching the show.
Honestly, now that we are sitting down to write this, we realize that that was the whole point of the show. Sometimes, life [also, shows and movies] don’t have to revolve around a bigger what if, or point or argument or bigger something. Not everything is about “something big.” Life is a book filled with small moments, and if you like to read about such stories, then we’d highly recommend you read this book series called Virgin River.
If you are new, then you may follow this particular reading order.
