Synopsis
The Viking commander, Thors Snorresson, abandoned a sea battle and settled in a peaceful life in Iceland with his wife, Helga. After a thousand years in 1002, the two had a son named Thorfinn. Thorfinn yearns to see the paradise called Vinland. Jomsviking Floki visits Thorfinn’s village to engage Thors into battle. Floki is a former Jomsviking, but his true motive is to kill Thors as punishment for abandoning fifteen years prior. Thorfinn got into his father’s ship and followed to the battlefield despite receiving orders to remain home.
The ship lost its way following the trap at the Faroe Islands. They got ambushed by a group of mercenaries led by Askeladd. Floki and Akeladd conspired to kill Thors. Thors noticed that it is a trap and battles with the attackers using his strengths and skills. But he submitted them and decided to kill them. However, the attackers captured Thorfinn and make him a hostage. Thors accepted the exception punishment to save his son. After the death of Thors, Thorfinn allies with Askeladd’s crew to avenge his father. Thorfinn defeated his commanders on duel and earned high rank.
In the year 1013, Askeladd’s company became mercenaries in the Danish invasion of London under Thorkell the Tall. The two Viking crew later battles when their commanders want to capture the young Danish Prince Canute. Askeladd’s company is succeeding, but Thorkell forces them to take refuge for the winter in the frozen north of England. Askeladd changes his mind and kills Ragnar to force Canute to stand up for himself. After two years, Thorfinn’s group return to Iceland with the wealth they made from selling the narwhal horns. Thorfinn and Gudrid get married and had a son named Karli. Thorfinn begins to gather a crew to colonize Vinland.

Vinland Saga Season 2 has made an official announcement on its official website and Twitter account. The premiering date of Vinland Saga Season 2 is TBA. The anime is returning for the second season, and it might premier as of late in 2021 or early in January 2022. The official release date of the anime will be available soon on official platforms.
