Hild and Einar will be waiting for the inevitable as Lnu warriors come their way in the boats in Vinland Saga Chapter 214. Thorfin is still nowhere to be seen, but the need for him to be on the field keeps rising. Meanwhile, the rest of the Vikings are left fighting the invaders that are coming their way unabated.
The previous chapter was quite an interesting one as Einar is left questioning his morality and that of the battlefield. He is grown in a world where peace is preferred over war and fighting, but those limits are tested to their limits. And as he ponders all this, the fight keeps on escalating with the death toll rising one after another with no end in sight.
The characters briefly mentioned wanting Thorfin at the place to resolve the violence there. And as we know, Thorfin is out there fighting a battle of his own out there with his life hanging in the balance. It will be quite a while before he can join the battlefield, all the characters can hope is he joins on time.
Einar was ridiculed as usual for his tardy work but there is nothing else he could do for them. Anything else would mean killing one of the Lnu warriors but as he stands against them, he sees people around him die. The question that readers have in their heads is, what will be the breaking point for him?
