Utopia is an Australian series that tells us the lives and work of a group of public employees at the fictional Nation Building Authority, a government office tasked with creating mass infrastructure developments across Australia. This group of bureaucrats is confronted with their egos, their personal lives, and public service.
Produced and starred by Rob Sitch, this series is now in its fifth season, and in every episode, we’ll see how this group of public officers chases elephants in hopes of creating a better living space for everybody, only to either fail or somehow achieving something not without going through the pains of it and viewers laughing at their sometimes incoherent demeanors.
Utopia Season 5 Episode 4 Recap
All episodes of Utopia follow the same idea; there’s usually a big infrastructure problem troubling the citizens of Australia that need some solving. There are three approaches to it. The way in which Tony wants to solve it, the way in which Nat wants to deal with Tony, and eventually, the third plotline, which involves a workplace fad.
In the past episodes, we’ve seen how the Nation Building Authority is having some bureaucracy issues as the executive branch is interfering with its already stagnant development.
So, Tony and Scott are rushing to see what they can do to fix it, since the past plot of the Solar panel scheme and the monumental budgetary problems are awash, the team must scramble to find a solution to their difficulties. But since they are not independent in their work, they must respond to the executive branch while also dealing with the problems within their organization.
