The Chase star Jenny Ryan appears drastically different in an old photograph showcasing her participation in the BBC quiz show Only Connect. Having joined the ITV quiz show in 2015, Jenny, 41, is recognized as The Vixen, sharing the screen with fellow quizzers such as Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, and Anne Hegerty.
Prior to establishing herself as a fixture on The Chase, she tested her skills on various other game shows.
Her television debut dates back to 2003, when she assisted the University of Leeds in reaching the semi-finals of the University Challenge.
In 2006, she showcased her expertise on Mastermind, opting for the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer as her specialized subject. Additionally, she participated in both series of Are You an Egghead? in 2008 and 2009.
In 2010, she achieved triumph on Only Connect as a member of the team The Gamblers, emerging victorious in the show’s third series.
An image capturing her stint on the show has resurfaced, revealing Jenny in stark contrast to her current persona as The Vixen. The nickname, chosen in homage to her red hair and ponytail, now seems worlds apart from her past appearance.
On Only Connect, she sported shorter, dark hair and smaller, square glasses, a stark departure from her current appearance as The Vixen.
One of her episodes aired over a decade ago, will be re-broadcasted tonight at 8 pm on BBC Two. Jenny has shared a throwback image on Instagram, urging viewers to tune in and reminisce about their journey to become champions of champions on Only Connect in 2011.
‘POV: It’s 2011 and your #OnlyConnect team is fighting to be crowned the champion of champions! Tune in to this vintage Only Connect winner’s special on Monday at 8 pm on #BBC2.’
In addition to her notable appearances on various programs, Jenny also contributed by writing questions for shows such as The Weakest Link and Fifteen to One.
