Lady Grace of Winostin took Rique to the banquet with her in the previous chapter. Readers are curious to find out if Rique would get along with the nobles in Chapter 17 of Ungracefully Grace.
Every lady in the banquet was smitten by Rique’s good looks; they had never seen someone like him in the Adelid Empire.
So they assumed that he might be a noble from a foreign kingdom or someone who was recently given a title. They did not want to believe that he could be a commoner.
They believed a commoner couldn’t look like that. Rique was annoyed by accumulating too much attention from the ladies. It was one of the reasons he did not want to attend the party.
Rique showed his invitation to the guard, and he was quite surprised after seeing the golden envelope since it meant that Rique was a guest of Her Highness, the crown princess.
Rique informed the guard that her Highness could not attend the party due to personal reasons. So she sent him that letter so he could attend the party in her place.
The guard welcomed Rique inside the manor, but Rique informed him he wanted to meet Lady Grace of Winostin because Her Highness had asked him to hand her something in person.

The guard decided to escort him upstairs. When Rique entered the manor, things were no different for him; the maids and everybody else were talking about him since his presence was too hard to control.
The guard knocked at Lady Grace of Winostin’s door and informed her that Her Highness had sent a person to see her. Rique was bewitched by the beauty of Lady Grace of Winostin after seeing her in person.
Rique informed Lady Grace of Winostin that he was attending the party in place of her Highness. Lady Grace of Winostin asked Rique if something had happened to her Highness.
Rique knew it. Lady Grace of Winostin’s tone completely changed. Rique informed Lady Grace of Winostin that Viscount Dwinsor fell from his horse.
The crown princess had to rush to his manor. Lady Grace of Winostin was quite shocked after hearing the news. Rique asked her if she knew the Viscount personally.
Lady Grace of Winostin informed me that she had known him since they were in the same year at the military school. She mentioned that Richard was the best rider in their year.
Rique sensed that Lady Grace of Winostin was quite upset because the crown princess could not attend the party. Rique presented the necklace that the crown princess had sent for Cadia.
Lady Grace of Winostin was flattered because it was the same necklace that Her Majesty, the ex-empress, used to wear.
Lady Grace of Winostin knew very well that the jewel was considered a treasure of the empire. Rique told Lady Grace of Winostin that he hoped that she would tell Her Highness that he had delivered the present to her when she met her next time.
Rique decided to leave, but Lady Grace of Winostin told him she knew that her Highness must have sent him in person to deliver the present to Cadia.
Lady Grace of Winostin told Rique to stay with her until the party started. Rique did not want to do that, but Lady Grace of Winostin mentioned that she believed Rique could have some kind of trouble at the banquet hall.
