Two-Week Break Announced for "The Days of Diamond" Manga

The Days of Diamond (Manga Plus)

Ohashi Hira’s manga, The Days of Diamond (also known as Diamond no Kōzai), is taking a brief break from its regular publication.

The manga was notably absent from the combined 36th and 37th issues of Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine, and it has been confirmed that it will resume in the 39th issue on August 29.

This two-week hiatus is attributed to personal reasons related to Hira, as revealed by the official X account of Young Jump. Fans can expect the story to continue later this month.

The manga, which began serialization in February 2023, has quickly gained popularity, with six volumes already published by Shueisha and a seventh set to release on September 19.

The Days of Diamond is also available digitally through MANGA Plus, allowing a wider audience to enjoy the series. The story follows Fuko, a 25-year-old who finds joy in food rather than romance.

Her culinary journey starts unexpectedly with a bingo win, where she receives a rice cooker. With her kitchen space taken up by her pet hermit crab, Hikki, Fuko goes on a unique cooking adventure, relying solely on her new rice cooker.

As Fuko experiments with creative cooking methods, she turns her modest kitchen into the stage for a “lazy gourmet adventure.”

The manga has been well-received for its charming premise and relatable protagonist, making it a delightful read for food enthusiasts and casual readers alike.

While fans may have to wait a short while for the next installment, the anticipation for Fuko’s next culinary challenge is sure to grow during this brief pause.
