Freezing is a Japanese anime TV series. It is the adaptation of the Freezing manga written by Lim Dall Young and illustrated by Kim Kwang Hyun. The plot centers around a regular boy named Kazuya Aoi, who enters West Genetics, a military training school.
The peculiar thing about this particular school is that it consists of genetically modified women who are called Pandoras, specially made to defend the world against the Nova.
The Nova is an extra-terrestrial, unfriendly and aggressive race who battle against Pandoras and their male counterparts named Limiters, who use an energy-based technique called “Freezing” to minimize their opponent’s movements.
Freezing explores the ecchi and fanservice themes with its string female eccentric cast, who are also endowed with special characteristics. World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman
The series starts off at a school named Akane Academy, attended by people with superpowers. These students with superhuman abilities are termed, saviors. These saviors are further divided into two groups- Shirogane (white iron) and Kuroma (black magic).
These superhumans are the reincarnations of several talented people and also have awakened abilities. In this school, saviors are trained to fight and defend against monster-like entities named metaphysical. Metaphysics is known to show extreme brutality towards humans and kill them without any remorse.
Which brutally and indiscriminately attack humans. The story follows the main protagonist, Moroha Haimura. Moroha is a very rare personality in his school since he is the only one who has awakened memories from not one but two of his past lives – Flaga, a sword master and a prince, and Shu Saura, a magician and King of the Netherworld.
Both of these personalities are also completely different from one another, granting Moroha the abilities of both Shirogane and Kuroma. In his time at the academy, he was acquainted with two girls.
Satsuki, a very proud and impetuous woman who also happened to have awakened the powers of Sarasha, Flaga’s sister in the past life, and Shizuno, a very calm girl who awakened the spirit of Shu Saura’s wife.
Moroha’s exceptional identity got him a position in the strikers’ unit, which was the academy’s team of elite. Although his life at the academy seemed perfect, it was anything but. With both Satsuki and Shizuno fighting for Moroha’s attention and metaphysical acting up again, his life begins an interesting turn.
Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminarofe
The story revolves around a 15-year-old boy named Kenshi Masaki, who traveled against his will from his homeland on Earth to the other world of Geminar. His life takes a turn when an enigmatic organization tricks him into participating in the assassination of Lashara Earth XXVIII, who was the ruler of the Shtrayu Empire.
However, after deciding not to kill the young ruler, he was seized and arrested. Seeing Kenshi’s abilities, which may make him a valuable asset, Lashara decided to take in Kenshi and promised to protect him.
Disguised as his servant, Kenshi and his bodyguard Chiaia Flann travel to the Holy Land, an academy that was used to train Sacred Mechanoid pilots called Mechamasters. Most of the students in the Holy Land were women.
Kenshi turned out to be incredibly popular at the academy with his amazing cooking and survival skills packed with his kindness and bravery.
This attracted many female students towards him, and he also became an object of envy for others. However, what happens when the same dungy organization is working secretly within the academy? A dispute is about to rage on.
Hundred
The Hundred is a special type of weapon that gets its name from its exceptional ability to transform into many different forms. The unique weapons serve the purpose of stopping a mysterious life form called the Savage from invading Earth. These are also the only thing that can stop these entities.
The chosen ones who can wield the hundred aspire to become one of the slayers. Slayers are trained assassins who are trained to fight against evil. Determined to be one of them, Hayato Kisaragi successfully enlisted himself in a small naval ship.
However, he has a feeling of indifference toward Emile Crossford, his roommate, who somehow seems to know him. To add to the already spiraling drama, when Kisaragi enters the school, he finds himself challenged to a duel by the “Queen” herself, who claims to be the school’s strongest Slayer, Claire Harvey.
Devilman: Crybaby
The anime Devilman-crybaby is one of its kind, with an amazing plot and some binge-worthy fights. The story follows Akira Fudo, his best friend, who tells about an ancient demonic race that has returned to take over the world and eliminate humans.
Hearing about the possible extinction, Akira asks for a solution, to which Ryo tells Akira that the only possible way to defeat the demons is to merge their supernatural powers with a human soul. This basically meant to unite with a demon himself.
Following the idea, Akira succeeds in transforming into Devil Man, who possesses the powers of both a human and a demon. Hence, the journey begins.
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
The anime is set in the year 1973 when an alien force called the BETA seized control of the planet Earth and drove the human species to the brink of extinction. Although the BETA can be destroyed using conventional weapons and tools, their advanced laser class possesses the ability to wipe out millions of aircraft and other weapons in a single go.
This forced humanity to create massive human weapons called Tactical Surface Fighters to be able to put up a fight against these creatures. The story shows us the time of 1998 when BETA reached Japan. Military school student and TSF pilot Yui Takamura is commanded to defend Kyoto’s last line of defense with her fellow classmates.
With the help of the sacrifices made by her friends and at the cost of many other innocent lives, the military forces were able to repel the invasive forces, and it was during this time that Yui decided never to let this kind of situation arise again.
Fast forward three years, Yui, now a lieutenant, joins the XFJ project, an Alaska-based Japan-American TSF development program.
In an international team comprising the very disobliging Japanese-American test pilot Yuuya Bridges and various reishi from countries that were lost to the BETA, Yui has been handed over the difficult task of helping develop the new Japanese TSF Shiranui.
Blade & Soul
The story introduces us to Alka, who is an assassin for the Clan of the Sword. She has embarked on a journey to find the woman named Jin Valel, who allegedly killed her master, Hon, without any remorse or feelings, which was not unlike how Alka was erudite to kill in her line of work as an assassin.
On her trip, Alka encounters three very strange women, but each one of them is a great warrior in their own field of expertise. She is then shown to struggle with the request of her late master’s wish to leave her life as an assassin behind and start anew.
Claymore
The protagonist of the series, Clare, is a young member of the Claymores, a species that is half human and half demon, and they call themselves Yomas. Their purpose in life is to fight against the full-breed Yomas, who disguise themselves as humans to lure other humans in and then brutally kill them and feed on them.
The Claymores’ job is to protect humans and fight against the full-breed Yomas, and they have been commanded to do so by a mysterious organization that creates not only them but also controls them.
The main character, Clare’s sole motive and the reason for her to transform into a Yoma was to seek revenge on the Yomas who murdered her loved ones and also abused and tormented her when she was just a child.
Luckily enough, she was saved by a Claymore named Teressa, who was considered the strongest Claymore alive then, to whom she got attached emotionally, but she was later betrayed and murdered, and Clare set her sights on avenging her, too.
Clare is at the lowest of the Claymore in the power hierarchy, pushes herself hard every single day, and gains control over her demonic side whilst maintaining her human soul. In doing so, she is quick to climb to the top of the hierarchy and kill many strong opponents to achieve her goals and protect her loved ones.
Samurai Girls
Japan is a country of wealth and prosperity, with its rich culture and luscious nature. But obviously, it is the subject of envy for many nations. However, a serious threat looms over the beautiful country, and some very unique people who go by the name of Master Samurai are the only ray of hope for them.
As the series, the student council of the Buou Academic School requests the presence of young samurai Muneakira Yagyuu. This academy is run by the Tokugawa Shogunate. Here, children of warriors are provided with the upper-class education required to govern the country.
The school is led by the student council president- Yoshihiko Tokugawa, and his sister, Sen, who also happens to be Yagyuu’s childhood friend. On his first day, Muneakira is caught up in a quarrel, and during the chaos, he ends up kissing a mysterious girl named Juubei Yagyuu.
And hence, the journey begins. Who is this girl? What are his powers? What is his true potential? Everything will be answered.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
After 15 years of experiencing a catastrophic event known as the second impact, the world has a new threat, and that is the extra-terrestrial monster-like entities called “angels.” Humanity seems to be facing a lot of trouble trying to defend itself against these beings despite using the most advanced technology.
The only hope for mankind depends on NERV, a secretive organization led by the cold Gendou Ikari. NERV operates huge human-like robots named “Evangelions” to fight off the Angels with advanced artillery and protective barriers called Absolute Terror Fields.
The only problem they face is finding pilots who can synchronize with the Evangelions so that they can fight at their best. 14-year-old Ikari Shinji’s normal life is changed forever when his father and head of NERV, Ikari Gendou, commands him to become the pilot of Evangelion Unit-01, placing the burden of the world’s safety on his shoulders.
Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica
since the discovery of “Samon Syndrome” 30 years ago, thousands of young people have traveled to fantasy worlds. The few returnees managed to keep intact the special abilities they acquired in those parallel universes.
What would happen if youngsters could travel to the fantasy world and some of them could retain the powers and abilities they received in the parallel universe? This is what happened with Akatsuki Ousawa, who was also known as the “Rogue Hero,”
He discarded his perfectly peaceful life in the fantasy world of Alayzard and now has to face the consequences of his actions whilst he returns back to Earth. He returns with Miu, the daughter of the Demon King he defeated in the fantasy world, and is now forced to keep her identity a secret.
To achieve this, Miu has to pretend to be his younger sister. The two then enroll in Babel, a special school for those who have attained special abilities and powers from their journey to the fantasy world. However, what happens when the school hides its true motives? Secrets will come out, and the adventure will begin.
Ikkitou
The plot follows the rivalry of Seven schools, which are constantly “at war” with each other. The students of these schools are trained to become skilled fighters and repeatedly compete against other schools.
The weird about these schools and the students in them is that their lives, fates, and destinies are guided by mysterious jewels said to contain the spirits of warriors from the Sangokushi era. Everything is bound to change when a girl named Sonsaku Hakufu moves to Japan.
Her destiny is to unite the seven rival schools just like her spirit warrior did in her past life with the seven nations. Obviously, this is easier said than done, especially when dark secrets are revealed, and there is a constant struggle around her made by other students around her who want to write their own destinies and live their own lives.
Maken-Ki!
The story revolves around a boy named Takeru Ohyama, a typical perverted teenage boy. He could not pass his entrance exams, but what happens when he gets into a school that has no entrance exams, to begin with, and it just turned co-ed?
Rather excitedly, he finally gets into the school. However, he faces an extreme challenge when he finds out that each student in the school wields a magical weapon called a ‘Maken’ to unleash their magical powers. Can Takeru find a Maken that suits him? Especially when his life is turned upside down because of the new school and all the girl problems?
Sekirei
Minato Sahashi failed his second attempt at a college entrance exam, but his life takes a turn when his fate is sealed when he kisses a girl named Musubi and is drawn into the Sekirei Plan. The Sekirei plan consists of 108 gorgeous women and handsome men who are made to battle against each other alongside their chosen partners, known as the Ashikabis, in a duel filled with fan service and Heart.
The prize for the last couple to be standing is announced to be an extravagant one, but the ones who get eliminated have to face eternal separation from the ones they love.
Every new kiss means a new challenge for Minato, but as the harem proceeds, so do his chances of surviving and saving the Sekirei from a fatal end. Throughout the journey, Minato will face foes and temptation as he and the Sekirei fight together with their deadly fate looming over them.
High School DxD
Issei Hyoudou, a high school boy, is your typical pervert who is a ‘good for nothing and puts in zero effort to do anything productive with his sorry life. He hopes to have his own harem someday and be surrounded by beautiful women.
However, things start to change for him when he is asked out by a beautiful woman who is actually a fallen angel, and later on, she kills him. However, he is granted a second chance at life when a gorgeous senior student Rias Gremory who also happens to be an upper-rank devil, revives him as her servant.
Thus recruiting him into the ranks of the school’s Occult Research club. With his new life, Issei must train vigorously to survive the cruel world of angels and devils. Every day is a new challenge as new comrades enter his life.
Highschool of the Dead
No one knew how a zombie outbreak happened out of nowhere. It was total chaos to see the dead rising and brutally killing anyone in sight. A high school student, amidst this apocalypse, is forced to kill his best friend when he gets bitten and joins the ranks of the Walking Dead.
He then Vows to protect Rei Miyamoto, the girlfriend of his best friend he just killed. Follow Takashi and Rei as they band together with other comrades to find out the reason behind the zombie pandemic.
Date a Live
Shidou Itsuka is your average high school boy who lives with his younger sister named, Kotori. However, when a special earthquake threatens to hit Tengu City, where he resides, he rushes in to save his little sister, who ends up in him getting in between an eruption.
Later he discovers a mysterious girl at the source of the earthquake, who is said to be the “spirit,” an entity that triggers these quakes with their appearance. Soon after, he is caught in a fight between the spirits and an organization that swore to annihilate these spirits.
But the story takes a turn when a third party is introduced. This party believes in saving the spirits and calls themselves ‘Ratatoskr,’ which is actually controlled by Itsuka’s little sister. A blunder is bound to happen when Shidou is recruited into this organization and can’t help but fall in love with one of these spirits.
Master of Martial Heart
It all started one day. Aya Isehima stumbled upon a violent brawl between two girls who seemed to be fighting about something called the ‘Platonic Heart.’ Aya, being quite an experienced martial arts expert, pushes herself in the fight to break it up.
Later she befriends one of the girls who were fighting and learns about the ‘Platonic Heart’. The platonic Heart is a special jewel that grants the girl in possession of it one wish.
This object was so unique and wanted that there was going to be a royal tournament to choose its next holder. Unfortunately for Aya, she now has to participate in the battle, and what is more concerning is the fact that there is no way out but to win.
Manyuu Hikenchou
the era is that of the ruler named Tokugawa shogunate. The weird thing about this era? Breasts are everything! If one has a good set of breasts, they are guaranteed wealth, fame, and power above all. The downside is bad, too.
If somebody does not have them, they are barely even considered humans. Inside the shogunate realm, there is a group of warriors called the Manyu Clan, which helps the government by raising those with big breasts.
How do they achieve this? By using a special scroll bestowed upon them, which contains the secrets to growing big and beautiful breasts.
However, the heir of the clan, Chifusa, holds a strong dislike towards the malpractices of the clan. Hence, she steals the secret scroll and runs away, hoping to fight against the cruel practices of the Manyu clan.
Valkyrie Drive-Mermaid
Each series revolves around girls who have been infected with a mysterious virus known as the A Virus or the Armed Virus. These girls are further divided into two groups- Extras, the ones who possess the ability to transform into weapons when sexually aroused, and the second group, called Liberators.
They have the power to wield an Extra’s weapon form, which is also known as Liberator Arms, and this is done through a process known as ‘Drive.’ Government Organisation AAA is on a mission to keep these girls in complete isolation on different islands until they are completely ready to mingle in society again.
Valkyrie Drive-Mermaid follows the story of an Extar named Mamori Tokonome, who partners with a Liberator named Mirei Shikishima. Join in their journey.
Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin
the next queen shall be chosen in the next four years. This means a new competition is about to begin. The winner will be the strongest warrior who will continue the legacy of the country forward and expand it further.
The rules are simple – anyone above the age of 12 can participate. They need not be human, intelligent, or sane.
