In the world of Marvel Comics, some characters can move faster than the human eye can see. These characters are known as the “fastest in the universe.” In this blog post, we will take a look at 10 of these incredibly fast characters from Marvel. Some of them are well-known, while others are not quite as famous. Regardless of their level of fame, all of these characters are incredibly quick and dangerous to fight against!
As a result, when comparing the businesses’ speedsters — superheroes whose primary power is their incredible speed — DC comes out on top. As a result, the vast majority of the fastest characters in Marvel aren’t actually speedsters. With that in mind, we decided to rank the fastest characters in Marvel from slowest to quickest based only on their speed.
Top 10 Fastest Marvel Characters
More than seven decades of Marvel comics history are represented here. While some first debuted beside Captain America in the Golden Age, some have only appeared in recent years. There are a lot of well-known heroes on this list, even if they are well-known for causes other than their incredible speed.
10. Quicksilver
Quicksilver is one of the most famous speedsters in all of the comics. He first appeared in 1964 and has been a staple character in the Avengers ever since. He is able to move at speeds that exceed the speed of sound, and he has even been known to travel at light speed on occasion. In addition to his incredible speed, Quicksilver also has enhanced strength and reflexes. He is a powerful opponent and one that should not be taken lightly.
9. Northstar
Northstar is a member of the Canadian super-team Alpha Flight. He first appeared in 1979 and is one of the first openly gay characters in comics. Northstar is able to move at speeds approaching the speed of light. He has also been known to generate blinding flashes of light when he moves at high speeds. In addition to his speed and light abilities, Northstar is also an expert marksman.
8. Nova
After being accepted into the Nova Corps as an adolescent, Rider gained the abilities of speed, flight, and strength. It took time for Nova to perfect his powers and become an integral part of the first New Warriors team. In “Annihilation,” long after his debut, Nova encountered the greatest struggle of his life. After wiping out the vast majority of the Nova Corps, Annihilus set out to take over the cosmos. Nova teamed up with the likes of Quasar, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Silver Surfer, all of whom were considered to be among the galaxy’s greatest heroes. In the event’s climax, Nova killed Annihilus in order to avenge his slain comrades.
One of Nova’s most important resources is the Nova Force, through which he draws his unique collection of special abilities. In order to use the Nova Force effectively, he uses it to fly at great speeds. He is one of a select few cosmic heroes capable of traveling at the speed of light. To avoid risking harm to the planet, he only travels faster than light when he is that far away from the atmosphere of another planet.
7. Black Racer
The nefarious speedster made his debut alongside Viper, Puff Adder, Fer-de-Lance, and Copperhead as a member of the Serpent Squad in 1941. Captain America swiftly defeated the team when they faced off against him. Later, in Quasar #17, written by Mark Gruenwald and illustrated by Mike Manley, Black Racer took part in a race organized by the cosmic speedster known as the Runner, in which the quickest in the cosmos competed.
At the beginning of the race, Black Racer was beaten by Quicksilver, Makkari, and Whizzer. Recently, she has continued to work with the ex-members of the Serpent Squad against Captain America. Captain America: Sam Wilson was the last time we saw her as a part of the Serpent Solutions gang of villains.
6. Whizzer
When Jack Kirby and Charles Nicholas first produced U.S.A. Comics #1, Robert Frank, better known as the Whizzer, made his debut. After obtaining a blood transfusion from a mongoose, Frank was born with superhuman speed. Later, he became known as “Whizzer,” a crime-fighter who specialized in Nazi spying in the United States during World War II.
Due to the fact that the Avengers had accidentally discovered Whizzer’s extremely deadly son, Whizzer had to use his abilities once more to protect his children from the Avengers. When Whizzer and the Avengers reconciled, the ancient hero was able to fight alongside them for a few missions.
5. Silver Surfer
The Silver Surfer is one of the quickest superheroes in the universe, not just in terms of physical speed but also in terms of mental speed. His role as a Galactus heraldist allowed him to quickly and accurately assess billions of worlds. When it comes to his speed, he’s the best there is. He is capable of traveling faster than the speed of light, dwarfing the likes of Quasar, Beta Ray Bill, and Nova. It’s been established that Surfer, despite his reputation as one of the quickest beings in the cosmos, can’t compete with others.
4. Adam Warlock
Adam Warlick was initially known just as “him”. He’s an artificially developed humanoid that rose up against his developers. As a result of the High Evolutionary’s gift of the Soul Gem and his new identity, Warlock now has a purpose and a new home. Warlock rose to fame as a result of his pivotal involvement in the “Infinity” series of events. Warlock was the one to eventually snag the Infinity Gauntlet during the “Infinity Gauntlet” and decide that dispersing the Gems was the best course of action. He has been a member of the Infinity Watch, a group of celestial beings tasked with protecting their individual gems and preventing them from ever gathering together again since that time.
Warlock was born with a unique set of talents that are both superhuman and extraordinary. Compared to other characters, Warlock has lightning-quick reflexes and a high rate of acceleration on the ground, making him very impossible to keep up with. But Warlock truly shines in space. Also, Adam Warlock can travel at speeds that are faster than the speed of light while in space. This is essentially the power to travel back and forth between the past and the future. It’s no wonder that Warlock is frequently at the center of cosmic event tales, given his ability to appear to be everywhere in the cosmos at once.
3. Sentry
How fast Sentry is demonstrated by the fact that he’s been able to go from Earth to the sun in just a few minutes on multiple times. The entire trip takes the light eight minutes. As a result, Sentry has the ability to travel faster than the speed of light when necessary. Sentry is so swift that even Thor, a hero who can travel very quickly with Mjolnir, was taken aback by Sentry’s speed. While it’s true that his top speed has yet to be determined, he’s certainly deserving of an honorable mention on the podium.
2. Runner
The Power Primordial, a peculiar form of energy leftover from the Big Bang, permeates Runner’s body. Unmatched speed is just one of the many powers that Runner has tapped into with this energy. Even before he’s decided where he wants to go, this Elder can transport himself to that location in the cosmos. Because Runner has been around for so long, he still doesn’t have complete control over his speed, despite this fact.
1. Makkari
A member of the Eternals, a humanoid race of immortals, Makkari has a wide range of abilities. It is because of Makkari’s speed and stamina that he has been mistaken for Hermes. Makkari has a long and illustrious history stretching back to the time of ancient Egypt, at the very least. The bulk of what we know about him comes from his time-fighting fascism as Mercury and Hurricane during World War II. Makkari renounced these guises and joined the Eternals and other cosmic heroes in combat against omega-level threats during the modern age.
When Makkari beat Runner in a race in Quasar, he did something that no one else on this list had ever accomplished: An Elder of the Universe who has spent billions of years perfecting his speed is often considered to be Marvel’s fastest character. The Galactic Marathons, in which many of the characters on this list took part, were organized by him as well. However, in order for Makkari to be ranked above Runner on this list, he would have had to defeat Runner more than once.
