Anime this year has been nothing short of amazing, so making just one anime list wouldn’t do them justice. However, the spring season was so packed we had to put them into honorable mentions on our list of Top 10 Anime Of 2022.
We can assure you, were it not for the animes on the main list, the honorable mention ones would have made it to the Top 10 Anime Of 2022: Spring version.
Though the lists are mostly based on the popularity of a franchise among the audience, it defeats the purpose of looking for recommendations. In a list like this, where people will be looking for animes that they might have missed because they flew under the radar, we set some rules.
Top 10 Anime Of 2022 Spring: A Season Of New Anime
10) Shield Hero Season 2
The show also goes by Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2. Though the second season was not as great as the last one, it still found a place in Spring’s Top 10 Anime Of 2022.
The main issue with the show is what was its strength: the Villain. Kyo comes as a two-dimensional character with little to no depth. His actions may have been larger than life and cruel, but he doesn’t hold a candle to melty. At best, he was a plot device for the characters and is easily forgotten.
9) Skeleton Knight In Another World
‘Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu’ is it’s Japanese Light novel name. Following in the trend of Isekai with an overpowered protagonist that could overcome anything.
However, what the show did differently was how lax it was in the approach. We don’t even care who he was in his last life, he is a chill dude who would help people in need, and that’s all we need to know. But it was Ponta that got the show into the Top 10 Anime Of 2022 Spring Season.
8) Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2
‘Komi-san wa, Komyushou desu 2’ continues off where the first season left and grabbed us with its charm and humor.
However, the anime could have ranked much higher if it were longer and aimed for the second year. That is not to say this season was lackluster, but for those who read manga, that’s where the beef is at. But it is still deserving of the eighth spot in The Top 10 Anime of 2022 spring.
7) Ao Ashi
Ao Ashi could be the Sports anime of the year, but the competition keeps getting tougher. First, it has a natural rivalry with Blue Lock that was slated for winter 2022, and then the Slum Dunk movie was announced.
Despite this, the anime still managed to make a name for itself and scored a spot in the Top 10 Anime Of 2022 Spring Season.
6) Bubble
It would have been impossible to make this list without putting Bubble in it. However, the movie was expected to be much more than the fame and recognition it got.
It also lacked the darker themes that Urobachi is famous for, still, the anime movie was great and ended on a bittersweet note.
5) I’m Quitting Heroing
Also called ‘Yuusha, Yamemasu’, is another Light novel adaptation that gets better with each episode. It started with an interesting premise, and we got to see the world from the Demon army’s perspective and a hero who is out of the convention.
But, all that is a lie as Leo’s true intentions are revealed in the very end. Earning itself a spot in the Spring’s Top 10 Anime Of 2022 for not just the twist but character depth as well.
4) Summer Time Render
The mystery genre has been evergreen throughout time, and we as a species are intrigued by it. And Japanese mysteries are a category of their own, and when you add a time loop to it, the show becomes a must-watch. It might irk some people for the fanservice ( we still are bothered by it), but that dies down fast once the action and mystery start rolling. If you are a mystery fan and have watched it, you will agree it deserves a spot in the Top 10 Anime Of 2022 Spring Season.
3) Ya Boy Kongming
Popularly known as Paripi Koumei, the show was a slipper hit and blasted its way into popularity among the masses. The premise alone would attract people, but just like the strategist, it is deceptive.
How can anyone come up with an idea so bizarre and execute it so well? The writer of the series deserves all the praise for seeing the story through like this. The anime was one of the most demanded ones to get a sequel by the fans, and we hope that it does. For the unique setup and execution, this show gets the third spot in Spring’s Top 10 Anime Of 2022.
2) Kaguya-sama Love Is War: Ultra Romantic
The best romance anime of this century, you will be hard-pressed to find anyone disagreeing with that. But why is it not on the first spot of Spring’s Top 10 Anime Of 2022?
The answer to that is simple; its best stories are still on the way. We are not even halfway through the plot, and the story is this good. However, fans were shocked to learn that story won’t continue in the next season. It will be told in an anime Movie!
1) SPY×FAMILY
The meme anime of the year had a two-parter, the first part came in the spring season and the second in winter. If there was an anime that would have taken the world by storm, it would be this one (it was just the memes).
The forgers only wish to appear normal and carry out things as per their objective, though the things that come their way stop them from doing even that. The hilariousness that ensues is worth rewatching, and the anime is top-notch. Oh, and one of the studios that worked on the show also gave us the first three seasons of ‘Attack of Titan.’
