The plot of Time Trap
Hopper, an archaeology professor, goes missing after exploring a remote cave in the Texas area while looking for any trail or hints on the missing hippies of the 1970s. He discovers a cowboy paused in the cave.
After this discovery, he dismisses his students stating their research is done; he doesn’t tell them what he found in the cave. Days go by, and Professor Hopper is missing; his research students Taylor and Jackie, along with their friends, look for him.
They follow his trial into a cave, and the group, except Furby, decide to follow the signal they received via a transmitter into the cave. The group lowers into the cave; Jackie tries to climb back when Furby doesn’t respond to their radio calls, but she falls and injures herself and Taylor.
When they reach a junction, through another opening, they find the dead body of Furby. As they look through his recording, they find out that s many days have passed, and the hippies that Hopper was looking for were his family, who were in search of the Fountain of Youth. They also find out how Furby died.
Taylor figures out that the cave’s situated in a time distortion; they also confirm this theory by letting Cara out of the cave. So a few hours in the cave would mean thousand years outside the cave.
The strange noises prompt Cara to climb out of the cave but are interrupted by a futuristic humanoid spaceman. They are also suddenly attacked by a caveman but manage to escape. The group manages to find themselves among other cavemen, and a fight ensues, leading to Taylor’s death. The fight leads to the death of the spaceman, who, in his last breath, showed them some clips showing how far man has developed and about their disappearance.
The Spacemean from earlier manages to save the others and keeps Taylor in a healing pool. Taylor finds Hopper at another time dilation with his sister; he asks Taylor to rescue others and flee. Cara is pulled through a portal by future beings and is unable to save others. Their perspective shows her reappearing in different clothes through a rope-like mechanism.
A while later, Furby awakens to find himself with Hopper and his family. They are later joined by the others, and it is revealed that they are in a space station.

Time Trap: Ending Explained
The cave is a security system protecting the Fountain of Youth, and with every layer of the cave, time slows down further. Furby, who dies, is resurrected by keeping him in the healing pool, similar to how Taylor survived. And about how the others survived is not clearly mentioned in the movie, but we can guess it is either helping pool or some futuristic technology.
In the end, we find the dead and the alive in the cave in a spaceship. As one might have guessed, even though the group was only in the cave for a few hours, on Earth, it’s been more than a millennium, which means humankind has progressed that much too.
The giant who has come to take water is human, and his inability to survive without a helmet shows how different humans are after all these years. The futuristic humans are happy to pick up old humans, which is understandable considering they could experiment on them; what is bizarre is our group of humans just accepted their fate way too easily and fast. The group is traveling to another planet and is probably planning to make a home out of alienness. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, you can catch it on Netflix.
