What’re The Traitors all about?
Premiering on Network 10 in Australia on October 16, 2022, The Traitors is a reality series based on the Dutch program De Verraders. Here is how the narrative unfolds: Twenty-four total strangers, all “Faithful” competitors, check into a rundown motel with the hopes of splitting a reward pool of as much as A$250,000 in silver bars. Four candidates, dubbed “Traitors,” were chosen on Day 1 by presenter Rodger Corser in an attempt to remove the faithful and win the competition for themselves.
If the Faithful candidates are successful in eliminating all of the Traitors, they shall divide the reward money equally. Every two days, the Traitors meet in Traitor Tower to “kill” one of the Faithful players by forcing them out of the game. In order to keep the elimination a secret from the remaining Faithful participants, they will skip breakfast the next morning.
After competing in a silver bar prize task to add to the prize fund and, in certain episodes, a Shield competition to gain personal immunity from elimination, the remaining contestants cast their votes for the person they perceive to be the Traitor in the Banishment Room. That player, regardless of the alliance, is eliminated and forced to disclose their true colors.
The Traitors Episode 12 Ending Explained
The Traitors’ season finale was packed with action. Wilfred was able to successfully recruit Kieran as a Traitor before the finale, bringing the total number of players down to six Faithful and two Traitors. At the beginning of the second-to-last episode, they made the decision to kill Andrea.
Meryl and Maddy were the final two competitors standing when the choice to banish was cast. Aside from Meryl, Aaron, Hannah, and Wilf each voted for Maddy. Hence she was eliminated with a 4-2 advantage. In the end, we witnessed Wilf get the ball rolling by slithering amongst the remaining Faithful and sowing the seeds of doubt in their minds. In contrast to other Traitors, however, Kieran has realized that his end is near.
Mob mentality prevails once again as the pack picks out the weakest link, making the conversation at the final panel a little lackluster. No matter how dramatic Claudia tries to make things, Kieran is prepared to die on his sword nonetheless. With his “parting gift” vote at the roundtable, Kieran gives Wilf the finger before he is eliminated.
After the faithful had already expelled and exposed Kieran as a Traitor, they were persuaded by his oblique remarks to vote to expel the last surviving Traitor, Wilf. Therefore, Aaron, Hannah, and Meryl were declared the winners and split £101,050.
