The last episode of The Simpsons is centered around Krusty The Clown and how he’s going to improvise to get his groove back after realizing that his comedic show has gone stale. So we’re going to see how Krusty gamed the system to get an educational grift going on. As the Simpson’s long-running and dilated run on television goes on and on, the show drifts from one character to another, letting us know a few adventures while keeping it real.
With more than three decades on air, Matt Groening’s “The Simpsons” became a classic staple of American humor, chronicling the lives of the citizens in Springfield, and their amazing adventures, all while satirizing literally every aspect of American life, dating all the way back to the Reagan era to present. While some consider that The Simpsons has had its run, the show is still there.
The Simpsons Season 34 Episode 21 Recap
Krusty is upset that his audience is a bunch of old geezers, his producers tell him that kids are into TikTok and going to church, and he goes to a restaurant with his clown buddies who tell him that the clown world of entertainment is past its prime, so Krusty is in denial and wants to buy other clown’s material for a few hundred dollars. He decides to open a Clown School and decides to bribe the Mayor and the School Supervisor.
Krusty sets up shop at an abandoned TV studio and does a spin on George C. Scott’s iconic Patton scene with the flag behind his back and does an inspirational speech to get his clowns riled up. Then, does a tv ad promoting his school, and the Simpsons watch it. Bart wants to go, but Marge is hesitant. Bart insists that if he doesn’t go to clown school, with his academic record, he won’t be accepted anywhere else but Catholic school, a thought that makes Marge and Homer cringe.
Bart Goes To Clown School
Eventually, Homer takes Bart to an interview with Krusty, but with a little greasing, he’s in, and so is every other aspiring student who wants in, but not on academic grounds. Instead, they’re just greasing Krusty with check after check. When Bart goes to school, he impressively outshines students and is proficient in music, clown history, and other subjects; he has no problem showcasing his progress at home and excels at a show for his family, Marge, and Homer is impressed, while Lisa feels that her conventional academic achievements are not worthy of her parent’s attention.
The Mob Shakes Krusty Down
When a trivia debate between Springfield Elementary and Krusty’s Clown School ends up in favor of the clowns thanks to Bart solving an equation with a clown joke, Marge bursts into tears, thanks Krusty, and Lisa feels scorn. Then, Krusty is served with a subpoena, and a mobster shakes down Krusty for some protection money. The mob is branching out and wants in on the educational racket.
Things are booming for the school, but the moment Krusty accepts the mafia in the business, they’re busting down the business, so Krusty wants to call the cops, who tell them to wear a wire. Krusty goes to a sitdown with the mobsters at the school cafeteria, and the mafiosos want a joke from Krusty. He’s nervous and can’t perform.
The mobsters discover that Krusty is wearing a wire, and when they try to make a move on him, Bart and the clowns pop in. They’re recording everything on social media, exposing the mobsters. In the end, the mobsters burn Krusty’s school for the insurance money, and while Krusty is sad about it, Bart thanks him for his academic progress.
