The Secret Romantic Guesthouse-Plot Premise
Yoon Dan Oh lived a carefree life as the loved youngest member of her household up until an unexpected tragic blow upturned her family’s life entirely. Now, faced with the task of providing for her family, Dan Oh took up the role of the breadwinner and became the owner cum manager of the Ihwawon Inn.
At the time of the civil servant entrance exam, when many young men venture out of their homes and travel to the far-off capital city, Dan Oh’s Inn becomes particularly busy. Among the many lodgers are three scholars who have very different personas, each one hiding their different secrets.
In the midst of their preparation for the life-altering exam, they stumble upon clues that connect back to a puzzling disappearance that happened 13 years ago. This unlikely team sets out to solve the cold mystery and lands in troublesome circumstances as well as discovers political secrets.
Also, in this adventure, there seem to be novel feelings aroused and aligned as future lovers are attracted and act upon their passion and emotions.
The Secret Romantic Guesthouse- Story Recap
Kang San and Dan Oh begin a new chapter of their love as they open up and confess their feelings for each other. Kang San advises Dan Oh to speak to the King and reveal how the watchman targeted her to kill her.
The Queen dowager shares an emotional reunion with Jung Woo Ha while Dan Oh gets an audience with the King and talks about the assassination attempt on her. More information is divulged about the Watchmen as a faction that operates under cover of darkness and from the shadows. Shi Yeol is apparently forever tied to protecting Kang San unless the latter becomes King and frees him (Shi Yeol) from duty.
Kang San makes it a point to Shi Yeol to be careful and not let it slip that he is the watchman. In true Shi Yeol style, the watchman retreats behind his playful persona and becomes the charming teaser he is to everyone. Kang San is irked and embarrassed to know about Shi Yeol hearing him speak to Dan Oh. But the duo of master and watchman share a strong connection and care deeply for each other’s safety and well-being.
Shi Yeol continues to take Hong Joo out on short, simple outdoor trips and tries to uplevel their relationship but Hong Joo retreats. Later, she takes him to her dead fiancé’s grave, where she bids an emotional farewell to her first lover and opens herself to love once more with Shi Yeol’s help.
Dan Oh is conflicted between her desires and her worries as the practical circumstances pose a threat to Kang San. Meanwhile, the King tests Dan Oh’s claim of not being in contact with Lee Seol by sending soldiers to follow and keep tabs on her.

The Secret Romance Guesthouse airs two episodes per week on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the latest releases, episodes 13 and 14, coming out this week.
