If you’re looking for a fun, half-hour comedy show on HBO Max, then you have to consider watching The Other Two. Now in its third season, it tells the life and struggles of a man named Cary, a gay actor, and his sister, a girl named Brooke, who used to dance professionally as they navigate adulthood, relationships, work, their teenage brother whose sudden rise to fame makes them go into turmoil, and literally everything else in a fun format that will make you laugh to tears.
The show, developed by Sarah Schneider and Chris Kelly, was initially shown on the television network Comedy Central, only to later be picked up by streaming giant HBO Max as part of their bet on half-hour scripted comedy shows for this season, taking advantage and capitalizing on how viewers from broadcast television drift from cable networks to streaming platforms during the summer as their usual shows go to the summer break after the regular seasons conclude.
The Other Two Season 3 Episode 4 Recap
Brooke begins her day by feeling hyped ahead of the day, and she gets her hair ready and talks. Peppy and uplifting background music makes her day. But she gets a call. It turns out Chase has a cocaine problem, but she doesn’t care one bit. And goes on about her day, even going as far as to pick flowers from the street to make her feel good. She updates her pronouns on Insta, and it’s Cary, having a nervous breakdown ahead of his recording day at the studio. Brooke continues to go about her day but forgets something at home and goes back to her condo.
She really has no excuse for going back, and when she talks to Lance, she can’t come up with a good reason to have a chat with him and banters with him about not having a job. She’s looking for answers on Google, sees some videos on YouTube, and gets all hyped up, thinking she’s going to get a job with woke congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Meanwhile, at the set, Cary is rehearsing his lines with a fellow actor. The moment he enters the set, everything goes to black and white, and everything is treating him nicely, so he’s confused. The scene Cary’s working on is a court show, he only does one line, and things go surprisingly fast and well, so Cary feels unsatisfied. Brooke goes to Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s office asking for a job, but she’s snubbed by one of the aides of the congresswoman. Cary then has lunch. Later, Brook keeps going with her aspirations to find some meaning, only to fail miserably.
