Right out of the brilliant minds of two of the Saturday Night Live head writers, Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider came to this amazing and brand new comedy called The Other Two. The series first premiered its first season in 2019 and very recently wrapped up its final third season. The basic premise of the show is set around two millennials who somehow find themselves dealing with the fame of their extremely gen z baby brother.
The show has cast actress Helene Yorke for the role of Brooke Dubek, Drew Tarver as Cary Dubek, and Case Walker to play Chase Dubek, and all three are siblings in the show. The show also has Ken Marino, Molly Shanon, Brandon Scott Jones, Josh Segarra, and so many more as really interesting characters in the show. The show has tons of references to the present time pop culture, because of which not only the millennials in the show but the ones among the viewers seem to struggle too.
The show revolves around a thirteen-year-old Chase and how he ends up becoming ridiculously famous overnight. While the case of this young boy may remind you of one particular real-life singer, Justin Beiber, it is his siblings who find themselves stuck and confused with how everything changes around them. Chase becomes the new ‘it’ thing for fangirls, and his two confused and definitely not-popular siblings are left to deal with this drastic change.
The show feels like an attempt at creating a parody that comments on the absurdities of the entertainment world and how it works. The humor is unique to the show and genuinely funny, and the plotline feels unique as well. The Other Two’s Filming Locations
The show is said to have been based in New York City, and the shooting for it also seems to have been done in New York and the state of California, for the most part.
New York
The show is entirely set in New York City, and to keep the vibes alive, the series has been almost entirely filmed there as well. The location seems perfect for the kind of story that the show has, and it does not feel awkward at all. Many fans managed to catch the cast of the show along with their filming crew in different parts of the city.
Fans spotted the show’s crew filming near the Brooklyn Bridge, which featured in the show a few times at crucial moments. Other filming locations that have been confirmed now that the show has been done and wrapped include the Wythe and North 12th Street, both located in Brooklyn. The crew also went to parts of Lower Manhattan, between Church Street and Walker Streets.
The show kept true to the locations for the most part, adding a layer of realness and authenticity to it. A few scenes of the series were also confirmed to have been shot at 70th Street and Park Avenue. The show also has a scene where we find young Chase making a video of himself out on the streets, and upon the actor’s request, the producers agree to use an iPhone camera for that video rather than their high-resolution cameras.
This scene also ended up adding a realistic vibe to the show and was, in reality, filmed at a particular part of the famous Time Square.
California
The beautiful state of California was also featured in the show, which makes sense considering it is an entertainment hub with a lot of show shooting at different parts of the place. The makers confirmed having traveled to Los Angeles with the crew to film a few scenes for the comedy series there. Considering the state is the creative capital of the film industry, and the entire industry is set in it, it is only right for the makers to have included it in the show.
