The Mistress Runs Away Chapter 47 is going to be the First Chapter of the Second Season of the Romance Manhwa. The story follows a young woman Rowena Filone who was trying to follow her passion of becoming a Novelist like her Uncle. One day she was contacted by an old friend asking her to come to the capital. What was supposed to be two friends catching up turned sour very quickly?
She learns that her friend took out several loans on her behalf and has now escaped leaving her to foot the bill. Running away from the debtors is how she ran into Duke Killian Devonshire. It is revealed that the duo met on the Train earlier, and Killian instantly took a liking to her. Turns out he was on his way back from his Fiance’s funeral, and their meeting must have been Fate.
Killian took in Rowena and made her his Mistress. The current storyline takes place 3 years after their meeting. Rowena and Killain’s relationship is going strong. However, the fact that Rowena is just a commoner is paving the way for a lot of controversy. All the other nobles see her as nothing but a vulgar woman who seduced the Duke and nothing more.
She acts as if their comments don’t bother her, but in reality, she is very depressed. She cannot talk about any of this with the Duke, as he is known to be violent when it comes to matters regarding Rowena.
He doesn’t mind defending her honor before anyone, be it a Maid or a Queen. At the moment, Rowena, along with her son Damian and Jeremy, are missing after their boat capsized.

Rowena, Damian, Rachel, and Jeremy were supposed to go out to the ocean so that they could have a portrait drawn. The Portrait Artist though skeptical at first, was mesmerized after seeing Rowena under the moonlight’s glow. Soon after, the storm appeared out of nowhere, swallowing the boat whole. Since Rachel was late, she was saved from the incident.
They were able to retrieve the boat, which was missing parts of it but no bodies. It’s almost as if they vanished into thin air. Killian is devastated after the incident. He spent the next six months there hoping that come clue would turn up, but nothing ever did. His attempts beg him to return to the mainland as his Dukal duties have been pending for a while.
Killian wonders if Rowena ran away and whether all of it was a ruse or not. However, his attendant assures him that that is not the case since Damian was with her. She would not put her son through something soo dangerous. Furthermore, the portrait artist has returned as he has finished the Portrait. He praises Rowena’s beauty and compares it to be equivalent to a Goddess.
He compares Rowena to the Goddess of Life, Hermenia, who signifies eternal purity, integrity, sacrifice, and the cycle of life. He then uncovers the portrait. We are not shown the portrait; however, from Killain’s look, we can assume it was an excellent portrait. Then we see Rowena in a place covered in snow. Her face looks blushed due to the cold, and then we see Damian approach her from a distance on a horse.

Looks like the Mistress has run away this time. We do not yet know where Rowena is now or why she went to this extreme length to do it. It is understandable that if she had just run away Killain would chase her no matter where she went. Faking her Death might just have been her only way out. We did not see Jeremy with Rowena, but we can assume he was in on it too.
