Ya-Na is seen silently judging all these people for having so much free time that they can spend hours on the beach looking for a fictional creature. Then, we are introduced to Shim Kai. He works as a mermaid in an aquarium, entertaining their patrons as their children.

Little did we know Kai was a mermaid in reality as well; aside from that, he is the son of Inoroo Group, one of the leading companies in the country.

However, he cannot lead a normal routine because of his unique affliction. Furthermore, the mermaid sighting from before was also revealed to be Kai.

Ya-Na and Kai meet for the first time at a launch party in honor of his twin sister, Shim Mira. At the party, Kai lost control and started to transform.

He ran out, trying to find water, as breathing was hard. He runs into Ya-Na, who is working as a janitor at the venue. With no other choice, he dunks his head into the dirty mop of water Ya-Na is carrying, but that isn’t enough.

Ya-Na was very freaked out about the whole ordeal and just ran off. One of Inoroo’s bodyguards, Cha Joo-Woon, came to his rescue and dumped a couple of liters of water on him. Turns out that Joo-Woon is also aware of the Inoroo Family Secret.

Since Ya-Na was in a bind and needed money quickly, she called up one of her friends, who hooked her up with a job at a birthday party that night. The party crowd was on the wealthier side, and Ya-Na was baffled by the wealth she observed from the people there.

To her surprise and horror, her ex-boss was also in attendance. He tried to make a scene while Ya-Na tried to walk away. He followed her, and Ya-Na ran for it only to bump into Kai and fall into the pool nearby. She extended her arm, hoping Kai would catch her, but he moved back his hands at the last second.
