Midge clues Shirley in that Mei’s stuck in China and then tries to convince Joel to come clean with his parents.

At a skating rink party, Gordon tries to patch things up with Midge by kissing her, but she rebuffs him since he is married. Despite his assurances that his marriage is different, Midge refuses to give in and skates away.
